Tavoris Cloud -Clinton Woods in America

Post by REAL_DEAL »

I have been told by Spud (don't know how he got my number) Cloud team won the purse bid and is going to fight Woods in America in September. Hobson said he was disappointed he lost the bid and still reckon woods will beat Cloud.

I just hope Woods Corner do the right thing and pull him out after 6 rds....the Bombs that Gonzalez took from Cloud in his last fight were sickening but he took it for 10 rds before the Fight was stopped and i dont want Woods to go through the same thing.

Lets see how the fight goes before begging the corner to pull out either fighter!! :TU:

I remember the Rico Hoye fight - he was meant to be sensational and Clinton Woods took him apart - there will be some of you who have watched Cloud and think he is sensational - what I reply to that is - if he is that good and he is the "2nd coming" of some form of brilliant boxer - then how come American TV do not rate him?

Cloud is so much better than Hoye who i didn't think was all that even before the Woods fight.

Why don't American TV rate him....Its an absolute mystery to me dude, why they would Market a BORING ASS Fighter like Chad Dawson who puts me to sleep and not Promote an all action Exciting Attacking Fighter like Cloud probably tells you more about everything thats is wrong with American Boxing than anything about CLOUD.

Fair enough comment back!!! :TU:

Clearly there is a fair few of you who rate Cloud - I actually think he looks quite good too and his team winning the purse bid makes things go in his favour a bit - however despite what people say Woods going to Rhodes has changed him when changes needed to be made - This is Clinton's very last chance to make it onto the world stage - there will be no complacency and no stone unturned in his preparation which if people were very honest was not the case for the Tarver fight.

Incidentally Dennis Hobson felt he put in a very fair bid for the fight - he stated it was certainly more than the Americans offered Clinton in private neogoitiations - I am not just p*ssed off for Clinton but Dennis too as I know he wanted the fight on at either the Sheffield Arena or in Jersey which would have been the first ever world title fight staged there - alas not to be.

Another thought for you - any fighter loves reading people do not rate him - they love it even more if they state he is past it - it gives them the drive to work even harder to prove themselves right and their critics wrong. :TU:

dennis hobson deserves a massive amount of credit for what he has done for clinton woods who did so well to win a legitimate world title after doing things the hard way,i thought he showed geat skills in clearly outpointing a slightly disappointing muriqi after struggling against tarver.

im backing woods to win a decision

I remember the last time I predicted Woods would get smashed was against Rico Hoye and he certainly proved me wrong! I'm going to stick the neck out and back Cloud in six brutal rounds, but I am quite happy to be wrong again. How much has Woods ho left in the tank?

Fair play to Dennis Hobson for continuing to squeeze juice out of Clinton's career. A classic case of good management of a fighter.

Thats makes me concerned for him more though......i mean he's gonna take an absolute pounding in this Fight and because he's in great shape will be able to take it more and maybe last till the 8th to 10th rd

Much better maybe if he's out of there in 4rds, especially as this is probably his Last Fight.

Look i respect and like Clinton alot, love the whole background story and his rocky theme to his life and under any other circumstances would back Clinton but Tavouris Cloud is very hungry and a beast in the Ring.

Spot on. I'd imagine when Woods retires it will be the last we see of Fight Academy for a while. Despite the whole cock up with Jeffries, and the complete lack of names Hobson has, he's done the best job with Clinton that he could have and the guy has a World title (possibly another as well) to show for it.

As for the purse bids, a shame it has to be in the states. If it goes 12 rounds and is remotely close, I can see Clinton getting robbed.

clinton is a massive step up for cloud and his win over muriqi proved he is far from shot. clinton will be sure to be tagged but his experience at world title level will be the difference
