Re: Hatton - Rumours Of A Comeback Are Getting Stronger!!!!
He's just waiting to see the Khan and Witter results.
Re: Hatton - Rumours Of A Comeback Are Getting Stronger!!!!
The fact that his own PR team were throwing out suggestions on their forum for who he should fight 2 weeks after his loss means this is hardly a surprise.
Re: Hatton - Rumours Of A Comeback Are Getting Stronger!!!!
not really a comeback is it, he's not been away.
He's got enough left imo to fight on if he really wants to. Winnable fight too, although his defences may prove a tad more taxing.

It mentions in The Sun report about this guy: "The Ukrainian won a silver medal at the Sydney Olympics and is undefeated in 29 bouts — stopping 20 of his opponents." Box Rec show that he was put out in the 1st round of these Olympics. Bit of spin already?

Is this the most bizzare picture of someone losing ever (second one down)

LOL what on earth happened there? The only explanation is a celebratory backflip or similar, but the caption said he lost...Wales wrote:Is this the most bizzare picture of someone losing ever (second one down)

Hatton had to have more fights, how do you think he convinced sky to take out a contract to televise some of his own promoted shows !!
Re: Hatton - Rumours Of A Comeback Are Getting Stronger!!!!

Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 41,00.html
There has been much conjecture surrounding the Manchester fighter's future ever since he suffered a devastating second-round knockout defeat to pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao in May.
A number of high-profile figures in the boxing community called on the 30-year-old to retire after that loss, but Hatton has instead taken time out to weigh up his options.
He has always said he does not want to end his career on a loss and is now believed to be back in the gym training for a return.
Unbeaten WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko, 31, is thought to be one of the names under consideration with Manchester's MEN Arena or Cardiff's Millennium Stadium both potential venues.
Fellow Briton Amir Khan is another possible opponent, although that will be reliant on the 22-year-old winning the WBA light-welterweight title from Andreas Kotelnik on Saturday night.
how will this fight go if it comes off senchenko is undefeated but seems to have faced limited opposition?
and will a fight with such a low profile world champion do anything for hattons reputation? i know hes a world champion but not a very well known one

Re: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko
Nothing wrong with Senchenko as a comeback fight. He suffered a brutal KO in his last fight and if this rumor is confirmed is now moving up in weight to fight a world champ as a tune-up or farwell fight. I'd have expected him to get in another light welter/ lightweight and make a fight at 147 purley as a tune up or farwell victory. Moving to 147 is the right thing to do if he wants to continue, but I'd rather just see him call it a day.

Only seen him beat up the guy Kell Brook smashed up.

Re: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko
I don't see why moving to 147 is the right move, unless he simply cannot make 140 any longer. In his two fights at 147 Hatton looked far from good, and especially against Collazo, he looked too small and lacked the speed he had at 140.CheckHook wrote:Nothing wrong with Senchenko as a comeback fight. Hatton is obviously not quite good enough at elite level any longer, his sole successful venture at that level against Tszyu was many years ago, and he's never looked as good again, as he did that night. Since then he's been absolutely spanked against the top level operators.
Hatton is probably good enough to pick up and defend a belt once or twice perhaps, but at 147, his safe options are limited.

Re: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko
think he had problems with weight in his fight with pacquaio theres a video on hatton promotions site he looks like hes put on a shit load of weight
http://www.brandhatton.com/VideoNews/18 ... Oakey.aspx
hattons biggest problem has been his balooning up outside of fights and he's let it happen again, cant blame him this time when he is undecided about his future just hope hes on the route to gettin his weight back down

Re: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko
I personally don't think he makes 140lb in a healthy manner. I think he cuts too much and leaves some on the scales. I believe he'll be more durable at 147. The fact that a move to 147 is being mentioned must mean there is a question mark over Hatton at 140. On top of that, all the big fights are at 147. The only reason any fighter should continue fighting, from a fans perspective, is to enhance there legacy and entertain, for that reason he must move up to 147, there are no legacy enhancing fights for Hatton at 140, other than Pacquiao. But, like I said, I personally think he should retire anyway.jamesmcdonnell wrote: I don't see why moving to 147 is the right move, unless he simply cannot make 140 any longer.

To be fair to Ricky Hatton, he never actually retired.
Re: Hatton - Rumours Of A Comeback Are Getting Stronger!!!!
he has made 140 quite comfortably, on the face of it for all his fights. But i do think he needs Kerry Kayes. His advice was invaluable to hatton. He sould stay at 140 if he comes back. I dont think he will though. There is nothing to come back for. He has been beaten by two ATG and beaten some great fighters. So he can retire with pride.

More durable? How come he was out on his feet against Collazo then?CheckHook wrote:I personally don't think he makes 140lb in a healthy manner. I think he cuts too much and leaves some on the scales.
