I don't know if makes any of you feel more or less confident about betting on the fight, but here is an article with Khan talking about his game plan.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 08,00.html
"Body shots - Kotelnik is a fighter who keeps his guard very high so I think the body shots are going to work as well as the angles, I've got to hit and move," Khan told Sky Sports News.

"In and out movement is also going to work, but he's a counter fighter so I have to be one step ahead of him every time.

"He's a tough fighter he knows what I'm good at doing so we had to change a few things in the camp and we're ready for the fight now.

"The key to victory is being patient and using my brains, being careful in the fight and just not making the mistakes we made in the last few fights.

"Me and Freddie have got a game plan, we've got a plan A and a plan B, and I'm sure it's going to work for us."

Lebedev @ Evs is certainly worth a punt.

Worth a shout??

Post by forcefraser »

You can get 16/1 for Kotelnik to suffer a knockdown but still win the fight.

I can see Khan blasting out of the blocks, maybe putting him down, but not being able to finish him off. Definately worth a punt.

I've put fiver on Kotto to win via points - return is £36.

I'm torn on this one.

Some vids of Lebedev here: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... type=&aq=f

Any idea what Lebedev's chin is like? He seems to be pretty good at finding the right punch eventually, but I think he's going to take some shots first.

I put a bet on Kotelnik winning via MD at 66-1, thinking being if Kotelnik beats him by around 3-4 rounds, one of the judges will be giving Kahn a draw and the other will be more like 1-2 rounds.

Long shot I know but at 66-1 worth a cheeky punt, plus I also got Kotelnik by KO just incase.

Regarding Cleverly vs McIntosh I see it like this:

Cleverly for me doesn't have as much power as people are making out, he's been put in fights where his opponents are out of their depth so they've been getting battered. I don't see McIntosh as out of his class as much and seems a tough kid, but I do see Cleverly as being a more classier boxer and think he can win a fairlt comfortable points win.

Cleverly points available widely at 2/1 and I feel this is a half-decent bet. Might have a few quid on it nothing major. I guess the main worry with this bet is McIntosh has never been more than 7 rounds ever so he might tire and get TKO'd, but I'm prepared to back my feeling that Cleverly's power is a bit over-rated at present.

I thought his power was a overrated for his last two fights and ended up losing money, taking it on, after seeing Spartacus have McIntosh bouncing around the ring I'm plumping for 3rd time lucky and going with the hunch Cleverly is starting to plant his feet a bit more.

Them hooks he wings into the body are wicked I can see one of these ending the fight around about rnd 6.

To be honest Asterix I know very little about Lebedev or his chin, I'm just going on the fact that Enzo is damaged goods who to be fair wasn't all that in the first place.

Yeh they look wicked, and he has real speed to get them in and not have them blocked, hmmm, it's a tough fight to call, my theory and thinking is based around this:

I feel that if McIntosh had been put in the same matches as Cleverly has had over the last 6-12 months then he would have done the same. The only true quality piece of form is the Oakey fight where I was really impressed with Cleverly.

It;s definitely a toughie, not had any bet yet so I'll probably umm and arr and then leave it lol.

Billy Boyle, Samson Onyango, Douglas Otieno

They were Cleverlys last 3 fights, absolute nobodies with no disrespect to any of them, what did Billy Boyle do to get a title shot, he went out in the first round of prizefighter and looked raw in that.

Whilst I dont think McIntosh is a world beater, I feel he will be giving Cleverly enough back in return to make him back off and go for a comfy points win than get involved in a war with a pretty powerful and fit lad.

Had £7.50 in my account so I put it on a hail mary accumulator

18/07/2009 Rigoberto Alvarez vs Francisco Sierra
(Total Rounds) Under 9.5 10/13 None To Run

18/07/2009 Hiroyuki Enoki vs Ryol li Lee
(Total Rounds) Under 9.5 10/13 None To Run

3 18/07/2009 Enzo Maccarinelli vs Denis Lebedev
(Total Rounds) Under 7.5 10/13 None To Run

4 17/07/2009 Krzystof Bienias vs Sven Paris
(Total Rounds) Under 9.5 6/4 None To Run

5 18/07/2009 Matthew Hall vs Anthony Small
(Total Rounds) Under 7.5 11/10 None To Run

6 18/07/2009 Breidis Prescott vs Miguel Vazquez
(Total Rounds) Under 9.5 11/8 None To Run

7 18/07/2009 Tomas Rojas vs Everado Morales
(Total Rounds) Under 9.5 4/6 None To Run

8 18/07/2009 Kell Brook vs Michael Lomax
(Total Rounds) Under 7.5 8/15 None To Run

Stand to win £1300 if it comes off. I suspect Prescott, Hall and Bienes might end up letting me down but hey its only £7.50

McIntosh looked awful against Sparticus. If the same guy turns up against Cleverly he'll get knocked out.

lol, good luck lefthook.

Right, the money is down. double on Kotlenik KO and Haye/Klitschko under 8 rounds came to around 9/1 with Skybet - good price.

Kotelnik KO 7-9 and 4-6 with hedges on the front and back.

also went for a speculative double Kotelnik KO 7-9 Klit KO 1-3 at decent price.

around £7,000 if all goes well.

Great article on Fight News about Lebedev. He sounds hungry for the victory.

Harsh, very harsh. For McIntosh, that was the perfect fight to experince. He is getting on (28-yearls-old?) so he needs to experience these things earlier in his career. The main thing was that he come through it and learnt from it. Look at the Barney performance - it's impossible to look good against him, but McIntosh held back and boxed well, winning most of the rounds. It's possible that pre-Spartacus, McIntosh wouldn't have had the patience and know-how to deal with an impossible fighter like Barney.

Good win that was tainted, but it will do him more good than harm in future fights.

6/1 for a McIntosh KO - I refuse to turn that down. £10 on that for me.

IMO it's just as good a win as Oakey, who was fat and took the fight at short notice.

Put a fit Oakey in with Cleverly and I feel it's a lot closer.

Agree with this post and I forgot Oakey came in at one weeks notice which does seriously tarnish Cleverly's best 'on paper' win. I just don't see the power yet with Cleverly, i see the speed, but he hasn't KO'd anyone who is half-decent yet, McIntosh would be the first.

I take either Clev points (which Im favouring) or McIntosh shock KO (the lad defo has power, I would say much more natural power than Clev).

Bloody hell, round group odds for Kotelnik are now 16/1 for each segment, f**ks sake. I got 14/1 and 12/1 at the time.

Clearly lots of late, ignorant money going on Khan - thought the price would get shorter as those in the know cashed in.

Hills customers think that Khan will win by KO
Lol.

Thank the lord for Hills customers.

By the way, is there ANY reason to bet with Hills any more? As betting increasingly moves online, their potential customer base is switching to people who actually want good value bets...
