I thought he was always pretty solid, & had a real strong run for a while there --- especially with his power. He was, however, a limited fighter, but one who could pull it out with a big shot. The win over Casamayor (very close, I had Casamayor edging it) is the most impressive scalp on his resume. You just had the feeling, though, he was always a step beneath the best of his generation, & it showed against a very good (but not great) opponent in Corrales.

A favorite of mine while he was fighting. Underrated as a boxer, and made for good action.

He was a guy who could not or would not step up after his first defeat. I think he had the potential but not the will to improve in the wake of his first loss. Some people use that moment as stepping up point. Others as a stepping off point.

very good fighter but he will probably be remembered best for how he gave up against corrales and diaz. the casamayor win was good but the raheem fight was crap.

My favorite was the Barrios fight. He boxed the ears off Diego for awhile in the their fight as well. He just gassed out.

I like Popo. Made good action fights. I think he fought too much on the backpedal towards the end and it affected his power. His fight with Barrios was great fun.
