New George Chaney Bout

Post by Ric »

Chaney's record was locked.
I unlocked it, and added a March 8, 1919 bout I found the other day.
If anyone has any problems with this, speak up here. 8)

Only one problem: You have him losing by TKO, but winning the newspaper decision! You wouldn't happen to have a photo copy that you could send me do you? I'm putting together a scrapbook on Chaney, and I don't have that result yet. Chaney supposedly had 100 knockouts, but I've only been able to locate 92 so far.

Musta been a typo. It was reported by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as a win for Chaney, but this was actually in the ND days. Right? It should be in a Philly paper of the day. Sorry, I just jotted down notes, as this library charges for copies. If you can't find it, Barry, let me know. I'll copy it, scan it, and e-mail it.

Ric,
Thanks! The Philadelphia Record may have a fight report for it (it's listed in their yearly results). ND was still the rule in Philly at that time.
