wonder if he'd abused her at all, if she had "reason" (for want of a better expression) to do it (if she did it)

Gatti was a throwback fighter, and he was a top-draw TV fighter as well, which there aren't many of now. He was a hard partyer and a wild-living madman which added to the "Thunder" legend. He was an amazing character in and out of the ring.

Think about it - can you guys really think of anyone who will replace him in that respect? I though Hatton might but....

Nobody can replace him. If anything, Hatton ended up becoming the anti-Gatti. Aside from his boozing ways, Hatton had nothing in common with Gatti. His most exciting fight was probably against Eamonn Magee or maybe Kostya Tszyu, and since that night he's been anything but entertaining.

Gatti had the Micky Ward trilogy, Ivan Robinson, Gabe Ruelas, Wilson Rodriguez, Angel Manfredy, Gianluca Branco, Thomas Damgaard...some of those are the best fights I've ever seen.

No other fighter in the modern era let it all hang out like Gatti did.

Arturo Gatti - Dead?

Post by WildWaylon »

Got a phone call this morning, supposed to have been strangled. Dont know if its true, my source reckons it is. He also said Tapia is back in the Nick, unconnected of course. If it is true surprised nobody on here knows about it.
