That was what I was most impressed with - Everytime Kotelnik thre a flurry at Khan he'd quickly cover up and come back throwing his own flurry of punches, a sort of offense is the best defense tactic.

The World Champion is Manny Pacquiao, whom Khan would last about half a round with, he is the man who beat the man. I wish people would ignore these ridiculous belts, even Khan is likely to vacate it, just shows how much its really worth.

Good luck to Khan, but he's delusional if he thinks he's the best, I heard him say he wants to fight Marquez, he'd be better steering clear. As for Khan's class, I'd say he's European title level at the moment, nothing more.

he beat a world title holder, he won a fight on the world scene, and holds a belt. he's only what 22 years old. pac won't stay at 140 forever. in fact, if he has one or two more lucrative fights, it's likely he'll have cashed out of boxing completely.

look at the press khan's win has generated already. i'm not really a fan of his style, but he's beaten a good experienced fighter. clearly khan's win has shown that boxing isn't irrelevent.

maidana is only the interim or international champion. i expect team khan to put off this fight - vs a big puncher - as long as possible. but what promoter doesn't want to guide the career of his fighter as much as possible.

Kotelnik is a Euro level fighter too. Khan is not world class, get over it. Just because his British it doesn't mean we can't see things for what they are.

Good post. It was a great win for British boxing and he completely dominated a world class fighter. The title may not be what it once was, but it's not meaningless and he certainly is more of a world champion than Maidana.

And he's only 22! This should be a really exciting moment for British boxing and could be the first of many big fights. How many younger world champions are there?

Strange how all the Ricky fans seem do keen to do him down. I don't think he can be faulted on Saturday's performance. To come back from Prescott and do that in ten months takes something a bit special.
