lenny zappavigna

it would have been good if he could have fought on this undercard.

would have been good exposure for him and among fellow light welters too.

he should be calling up Vic and trying to get a hook up with Gary Shaw.

Lenny needs to up his trainers and look at overseas fights, there is not much left for him here.

I think you will find that Zappa is fighting on a Showtime card in october.

Lets hope he does better than the last 4 Australians did this year in the US.

Not the specific card, but will appear on showtime shobox.

I would still like to see him fight a couple more times here like Ganoy, steven wills and even Elomar first.

If he go's to America without a tough fight this year he'll find that a 10-6 american/mexican is probally the equivelent of 16-2 Australian.
No disrespect to Gairy but he didn't even test Zappa, good name on zappa's record tho.

it's always hard isn't it? The good local guys look to go overseas to get the better fights and the better money. We as fans encourage it to a certain degree. But there are those times, and i think this is one of them, that i wished a fighter would have a few more high quality fights at home before making the jump to o/s.

Lenny is an awesome talent. He is my fav' prospect atm. Not a massive fan of his surroundings, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that Lenny is still not a polished fighter. He is getting better fast but a little more class before going o/s would be ideal.

I know...i know. Sometimes you just have to make the jump into the deep end, trash your arms like fornicate, hoping that you stay afloat. I truly hope this is what happens in this case. Also, match making will have a massive say it in as well of course.

All the best Lenny....slug em out.

yeah i was meaning that he fight a relatively easy opponent but on the type of card mentioned above. just to get his name out there but still have a few more local fights to fine tune him for bigger things.

So whats doing for this little champ.

He fights Anton Olarte 8-9 at the end of this month, clearly Olarte is much better than his record suggests and I'm just going to throw it out there and say that he has been ripped off in a couple of fights against Asiku and Browne, which he clearly won. BUT he is grossly been mismatched against Zappa, Zappa in 3 IMO.

Zappa needs another big test or two before years end and this fight will not provide that for him, so who in this region will provide him with a true test?

Apparentley Elias Nasser Vics manager is working on getting Lenny on the Showtime network.
I think he has done a pretty good job with Vic and he may get Lenny into the big time in the states. I know him and Lennys manager Billy Hussein are real good mates.
I hope Lenny makes it abroad , it world be great for australian boxing.
