jon thraxton

Post by telboy66 »

I was at York hall last night for a good nights boxing & I thought that Thraxton won his fight with tom Glover but he lost because in a fight that only the Ref makes a decsion you can't afford to get on his wrong side & I feel that it was Jon's constant infringments of the rules did, that put what was a close one firmlly with the guy that played by the rules not that I'm suggesting any bias by ref Kenny Curtis it's just human nature

Sadly Jono is no longer the fighter he was. Fighting a Southern area champion and losing, shows he is no longer a threat to John Murray. I know he had a weight disadvantage but even with that considered, he just wasnt good enough to win. A draw would have been fair but losing a point seems to have lost him the fight. Cant see the point in him fighting Murray now.

Jono looked knackered after 2 rounds and Glover fought a very good fight I had Thaxton by 1 round but i scored the 7th 10-10 when Thaxton got his point taking off

Agreed looked sluggish and tired early he could've outboxed Glover easily a few years ago but i think he is past it now Murray would be a step to far for him now

Were will Glover go after this victory?
Thaxton showed great sportsmanship at the end of the fight not complaining about the result but Glover seems full of confidence at the moment maybe he will quit his bricklayer job and focus on the boxing
