Thats what happens when you stay in your coccoon fighting bums for years instead of stepping up and testing yourself and getting the skills. I've always said Enzo had the potential but he was never that good, thanks to himself. Now he's getting beaten up every time he fights.

that was quite a brutal finish

I think Enzo should call it quits - for his health more than anything else

Maccarenelli the type of attacking minded fighter he is is usually either gonna win by a brutal KO or lose by a brutal KO

One thing about Maccarenelli he was never involved in boring 12 rounders - win or lose -

all his losses have been brutal KO's

However seeing that video - he didnt even look like he had the confidence to let his hands go - there were hardly any punches being thrown by him

Painful defeat

To be fair to the guy he said afterwards that he's lost it. he practically said he was frightened to fight, gun shy he called it.

I think the haye loss messed his head up.

In every sense i think.

Personally i thought he would throw the kitchen sink at his opponent given the manner he lost last time out.

His confidence in himself was crushed and that is the worse thing that can happen to a fighter.

Before i would have said that he could still earn a living against the Hucks and Alexeev's of the world, but the manner in which he lost leaves me without any doubt that he should turn it in now.

He has kids who defo wont want to see their dad looking like that again.

There is more to life.

Problem is, how will he pay the bills then. People think boxers can just retire when they want but it's not like that in the real world.

AINT HE ONLY 28 , WHICH IS STILL FAIRLY YOUNG ( POSSIBLY 2ND YOUNGEST CRUISER IN BRITISH RANKINGS ??? DONT QUOTE ME ) MAYBE HES JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR WORLD STANDARD , END OF , AND TO BE FAIR HIS LAST 3 LOSSES HAVE BEEN TO GOOD OPPONENTS IMO , HAYE WE ALL KNOW BUT HIS LAST 2 COULD YET GO ON TO BE WORLD CHAMPS THEMSELVES . PERSONALLY I DONT THINK HE SHOULD RETIRE , JUST THAT AS WE SAY ON HERE SO MANY TIMES THIS GAME IS ABOUT LEVELS , AND ENZO WOULD BE PROB BETTER SUITED TO EUROPEAN LEVEL , BUT HE NEEDS CONFIDENCE , NEEDS A FEW EASY WINS TO GET BACK ON TRACK AND BUILD HIS CONFIDENCE , WARREN HAS ALLEGEDLY ASKED HIM TO RETIRE , THATS HOWS A LACK OF BELIEF IN HIM , IF I WAS ENZO ID SIGN TO CALZAGHE PROMOTIONS AND GO FROM THERE , WHY NOT BE BRITISH CHAMP , WHATS WRONG WITH THAT .

He looked visibly nervous BEFORE the Haye and Alfobai fights.

I think he was having a cofidence crisis for some time before this latest fight.

How do you know that?

Are you from Swansea.................

I only ask - cos I agreee with you

I know a guy - who kinda knows Enzo and his missus and he told me last year some time after the Haye fight that his misuss had kicked him out because he had lost the title and stopped making good money !!!!

I dont know her - so I cant say - but I hear she is a bit money orienated and now Enzo's career had taken a dip after the Haye fight - she decided she wanted to get rid of him

Is this true?

If so - how shallow is that...............

I'm sure it's all rumour and conjecture, not really for us to discuss the intimate personal life of Enzo Macc is it, but home problems could explain why he has looked absolutely diabolical in his last 2 fights against medium international level opponents.

It's ok saying he trained well etc, but he just looks stiff these days, scared, I think Haye did a LOT of damage to him. He was hurt off that uppercut from lebedev, got a poor defence imo. He is defo the sort of fighter who needs to go in and dictate the fight to his opponent straight away rather than stand off and try and get involved in a boxing match.

Punch resistance wise he always had doubts over his chin and they have simply been exposed at the higher level, I agree with someone else in that he could go back to british level if he had no other way to make money and there wouldnt be any real shame in that, but the cruiser scene in britain is piss poor so he wouldn;t be making much momney, better than the dole though!

Yeah mate I used to live in Swansea, i've witnessed her belt him in the pub and chuck the ring down the street(bout 6 years ago). Then ask the bouncers to throw him out cause he had hit her!!!!
I also know she was nicked and convicted for hammering my ex missus's mate, the mate used to go out with the fella she had a kid by.
She is a bit older than him too, must be 34 now.
I know he was def kicked out, and has had a real hard time this year, and it wasn't like he had done anything, he's a nice, quiet fella.
Most local folk who are familiar with them have every sympathy for Enzo, and see her as a gold digger.
She was a single mum with bugger all untill Enzo took her on, being pregnant again will just put more pressure on the relationship and secure her more cash

Tragic stuff if this is true.....as great trainers and Boxers have said in the past....Boxing is as much a Psychological sport as it is a Physical one. I can imagine Enzo going into these Fights with his head mashed up and even acting out a form of 'self punishment' inside the ring.

He is only 28 and can still be a force on British and European Level if he could make a Clean Break from his Situation, get a new trainer and even maybe Re-locate to America and try to get Freddie Roach interested in training him as I think Lack of Sparring between Fights is probably his biggest Downfall.
