Samuel Kebede for Harrison

Post by Old bones Ian »

Swedish based Etheopian Samuel Kebede will face Scott Harrison on 29th October.

There arn't any name fighters on Kebede's record so we will have to wait and see if he turns out to be a good one or not.

Looks a nice safe challenger, in the finest SN tradition. He won on points on the last Calzaghe bill, beating Jus Wallie ( managed by Eugine Maloney ) so we can be sure he's been passed as suitable by brother Frank.

Better than Alvin Brown....who was considered.

I think the 'the next fight will be a big one' model is about to be applied to another capable performer....

From http://www.knock-out.dk

Sports Network have announced that WBO feather champ Scott Harrison will defend against Swedish-based Ethiopian Samuel Kebede October 29 in Glasgow. Kebede is in training and ready to go, says trainer Leif Carlsson. The problem is that Samuel isn´t not yet out of his contract with the now defunct Modern Sports & Network and as long as he´s tied there he can´t accept fights anywhere else. MSE was a part of the huge Modern Times Group with Steffen Tangstad as CEO but was shut down earlier this year. Some of the fighters tied to MSE have settled their business (as in financial compensation for fights they didn´t get) but others haven´t and Kebede belongs to the latter group.

Does this mean the fight with Pac is out the window or were they looking at an end of year date for that?

I have no clue on this fella and I'm expecting a nice 6/7 rounds for Scott before he wears him down. Chi or MAB needs to be next though, there are only so many easy fights a man can have before he gets tainted with the same brush as Calzaghe and Hatton!!!
