I've met emerson and dirk for a beer before a fight - top lads and I also know Ian mac, Kevin, Terry D, Spud and Dan Foster and quite a few others, all top lads and a pleasure every time I've been in their company. Nothing to worry about meeting up with anyone unless you are a twat :o :TU:

I wouldn't mind, as long as we'd communicated prior to the extent where someone doesn't say to me "Shall I call you Carbo?" upon meeting, which would make me want to vomit and run away.

My former lodger was really into World of Warcraft -- actually, it ruined his life, as even when he had no money, he wouldn't work because he was playing it so much, and he ended up getting kicked out of my flat by my former landlord when I moved to Moscow, and then developed a terrible chronic leg problem because he was sitting infront of the computer for 18 hours a day -- I kid you not.

Anyway, he had this "guild", whatever that is, where a bunch of guys who played -- from around Europe -- went on "raids" together, whatever "raids" are. A few who lived near us decided to meet up, and I went along, because it just so happened that a few of my mates were meeting in the same bar.

A thin, pallid boy with long, greasy fine hair, a conspicuously spotty face and a Metallica T-shirt approached as we entered the bar and said to my mate "XXXXXX*? Would you prefer XXXXXX or your real name? huh-huh-ha-he-he."

"Oh," I said. "I think I just saw Jenny, I'll leave you guys to it. See you later."

I'm not sure I could cope with the pressure of wondering whether the same would happen when meeting up with people.

*The names have been sensored to protect those involved.

Nope !! Never have met anyone from here.

To be honest, out of the crowd I mainly drink with (all football boys) Im the only one remotely interested in boxing. Sure they'll all be up for a big fight, and we've had some good nights watching JoeC and some even better ones watching Steve Robinson. But if I mentioned Kell Brook to any of them they'd think I was on about that bird from Weird Science :-? :-?

Sat next to the boxrec chief John Shep at a sportsman dinner. Then the following month at the Witter vs Harris fight. Nice chap.

Some of the people i've met i had huge differences of opinions with on the forums. But with a beer in our hand we laughed it off. Then went back to arguing again on the boards straight after.

Not met anyone off this site, but a bunch of the Hatton, livefight site members at various fights.

Another guy was a massive Froch fan and had nobody to travel to Notts with to see him fight, so i sorted him a ringside ticket, organised his digs and introduced him afterwards at Carl's mums pub. Made his year.

Even the people you assume to be dickheads, actually all turned out really decent.

CARBO: a lad was murdered in Nottingham round the corner from me, after he had a row with a warcraft player in Germany. The guy caught a plane over and stabbed him to death !

Khaosai where are you?
I "stood near" Spud at the York hall many years ago (well it seems like many years ago) i asked him if he liked my nail polish, but he pretended not to hear me. I was really really pissed, i slept in the wine celler of a posh hotel as i was unable to walk far enough to get a cab.

The other people i have met on this board have since taken out various court orders against me, so i am unable to talk about it.

I once met a guy who isn't a regular poster - he was selling some tickets to a show in Wigan and advertised them here and I was back up north so I thought why not? Really enjoyed the show as well, Thompson - Vuma and Napa - Booth were the main events. But never met any of the regulars. I feel a boxrec meet coming.......oh yeah and hopefully should be training with Mr. Bessey in month once I can get back to hitting the bag for a few rounds without having a cardiac arrest!

I'd strongly suggest Tyson Fury v John McDermott is the perfect show for a beer. Small hall, close to me and an interesting fight.

First Boxreccer I met was Capt Hook, I spent the two days prior to meeting him convincing myself that he was, in fact, not who he said he was, and that he would either kill me, or give me a beating.

That was the idea! :)

Met you Terry, Emerson, OliverFennell I've known since we were teens, and Wales is a good pal too from up here. Also met MattW....

Never met any, but would like to, because going to boxing by yourself can get boring after a while.
