who up next for cleverley?
Re: who up next for cleverley?
If Cleverly is interested in winning the Lonsdale belt outright then he should fight regularly and whoever the BBBofC want him to fight.
If he's after the European title, then he should fight Dawid Kostecki (ranked 2nd). Cleverly is currently ranked 3rd. Woods is the number 1 challenger, and Juergen Braehmer is the champ.

Keep him active I think Juergen Braehmer would be a step to far for him at this stage of his career (but I thought Oakay would beat him) he needs to be moved along to Euro level though maybe the guy Braehmer lost to recently cant remember his name

Re: who up next for cleverley?
Clev beats Bremer but don't beat Bellew..When he get's hit and hit hard he's going!!
Re: who up next for cleverley?
Cleverly would make easy work of Bellew. I don`t really see the need for him to take such a fight, as of yet anyways. Let Bellew do something before we talk that fight up
Cleverly v Braehmer
... excellent step forward for Nathan. A very good european opponent that I feel is well within Cleverly to showcase his tallent and really shine.

Re: who up next for cleverley?
I DONT THINK CLEVERLY SHOULD BE ANYWHERE NEAR THOSE 3 YET . LET HIM HAVE A FEW DEFENCES THEN STEP UP TO A FEW LOWER LEVEL EUROPEANS AND MOVE UP GRADUALLY , A LOSS NOW WOULD MAKE HIM JUST LOOK LIKE A HYPE JOB WHICH I THINK WE ALL KNOW ISNT THE CASEAsterix wrote:If Cleverly is interested in winning the Lonsdale belt outright then he should fight regularly and whoever the BBBofC want him to fight.

Re: who up next for cleverley?
Braehmer would be a step too far at the moment for Cleverly. They should build him up and stick him in with Bellew. No more Doug Otieno's though!
Re: who up next for cleverley?
I'm not sure why you're shouting at me. I wasn't suggesting that Cleverly fight the top 3 ranked by the EBU. I was only stating that if he wants the European title then Kostecki is the guy he needs to gun for. I've never seen Kostecki fight.damianhucker1 wrote:I DONT THINK CLEVERLY SHOULD BE ANYWHERE NEAR THOSE 3 YET . And, for what it's worth, I think Cleverly shout win the Lonsdale belt outright.

Re: who up next for cleverley?
If you could turn off caps lock for use on the forum then I'd appreciate it. :)

Another rule is to avoid typing in all caps, which is considered to be the equivalent of shouting or yelling.

Re: who up next for cleverley?
No rush, but hope he's kept active.
I don't know why the fight wasn't on a allegedly promotion, hopefully they'll have more faith in him now. I think that's a safe assumtion. However more people would of seen his fight than saw Khan's fight. There's a lot to be said for fighting on terestrial tv.
I'd like to see him fight back here in Wales get him a following at home. Would be nice to see him headline a card with the 3 Brit Olympian's on in Cardiff.
I'd like to see him win the Lonsdale Belt outright before moving upwards. Perhaps make a defence then fight a solid American journeyman like Montell Griffin who was mentioned previously then make another defence. No need to push on for the EBU title unless it becomes vacant (Possible if Braemher beats Erdei & Woods beats Cloud)

Re: who up next for cleverley?
I expect promoters to get in the way of a Bellow Cleverley fight. Allthough a fight might happen down the line. The division is jam packed with over rated old fighters who have gained their standing by only fighting other old over rated has beens.
Whats the point in a couple of domestic prospects facing of in a divison like that. The Lacy, Jones, Hopkins, Johnson, Winky, Tarver, Woods, Griffin, Calzaghe merrygo round is vastly approaching its conclusion and fighters with good records will get the chance to pick them off at will.

lI agree with this, and to be honest I don't think Bellew would offer any more problems at this stage than McIntosh did. Good fighter, but wrong timing.DavidPayne wrote:Jeff Lacy after Jones beats him.
I believe Cleverly has the tools to be a world champ within 18 months if he's guided right.
