Its a clever shrewd move by Haye whats everyones problem?

He hasnt fought for a year, goes straight into a title fight which will put him in a better barganing position against the klitshko brothers (should he win) who evidently dominate every negotiation and pay structure for any defence they are having.
It then makes that fight even bigger and in the current climate will become a superfight.

Hayes on sky sports news at 11am.

He clearly pulled out of the Wlad fight due to money, anyone would have done the same. I am sure he tried to re-negotiate with Wlad and Vitali as well, but he is making the correct career move by going for Valuev.

If he wins, he has a massive bargaining chip in the WBA belt, when it comes to making a deal with the Klits for a unification bout.

I am pissed off that the Wlad-Haye fight never came off, but going for a world title in his 3rd heavyweight fight is not too shabby, plus you know if he wins, it will be the Klits he goes after.

Rather than criticise Haye for trying to make big fights happen, I would rather applaud him for not worrying about his record but instead going after the best fights and if they fall through, trying to do the next best thing.

I am glad that British boxing has Haye and Froch who want to fight the best in their divisions.

x2 (you put it much better than I did)
exactly my sentiments.

the level of diissrespect they have shown me - ha ha potts and Kettles David

this is better move for his career , if Klitcho knocked him out he would be damaged goods in most peoples eyes
he can win this one and then get in with one of them and give it a go.

the kind of attitude the klits have ruins boxing. the terms and conditions and the bullshit. it's not like they have any intriguing challengers, or ven interesting challengers (apart from povetkin who is supposed to challenge wlad).

then again, if haye was coming up for big fights shouldn't he have brought something more to fights than a knockout of enzo maccarinelli.

May have been nice for him to fight one of them inbetween Barret and the big man. Just get the cynical feeling that he knows he's one defeat away from not getting the multi million pound fight and he's scared, maybe, of suffering the KO that ends the dream of being set for life. Cant blame him, but a fight against any of the aforementioned wouldve been nice instead of a 12month lay off.

Still, roll on nov 7th!!!!

Yep - sounds like a shrewd move. If Haye can knock over that big lump, it'll cause an earthquake.

Well this is a more than good alternative, even if it's the 3rd best HW belt holder, and assuming Haye doesn't pull out yet again...Vitali always looked unlikely, as DH must have realised he was literally on a hiding to nothing there.
At least Valuev has the head the size of a basketball for Haye to aim for.
Haye should put on a tape of Dempsey/Firpo before he heads to the ring, and a horseshoe in his glove for good luck.

Haye will win this by simply throwing a punch. If the same one turns up that did against Holyfield, he should be taken out back and put down afterwards.

If Haye's team handle this right, the nation could be gripped for this one. It's a perfect opportunity to gatecrash the pyche of the British public.

Without doubt, the red-tops will be in overdrive, given the opponent. David v Goliath etc, even the Beeb and Itn news will be in on this. Everythings in place for Haye to become an household name. The back pages beckon which can only be good for the sport. General office chatter and school ground interest to go up a good few notches, just like the old days. :TU:

Cant see Haye knocking valuev out quicker than he did Barrett. Its going to take some doing to get inclose enough with enough leverage to land big on his head.

Hayes best option is to outbox the big Russian form the outside and keep out of the way his clumps. As big and ponderous as valuev is, he's got some weight behind those punches.

Because after talking a good fight & wearing the infamous t-shirt holding both of their heads aloft he got them that angry he decided Valuev would be a safer option.
Its Vitali's fight the Haye hasn't happened, he didn't offer Haye any of the potential pot, Haye would only get Brit TV money, he wanted Haye on a 4 fight contract if Haye won and who knows what percent of his future earnings Vitali was demanding. This is a really disgraceful contract, as bad as Braddock-Louis

The fact is Haye will get more money and better terms against Valuev FROM DON KING. THATS RIGHT DON KING GIVES BETTER TERMS THAT THE KLITSCHKOS

Now the biggest fight Vitali has on offer is Arreola because Haye and Valuev are off the table, pure masterstroke

Interesting how the WBA sucks unless one of our fighters has it or is fighting for it. In all but name Chageav was the legit champ and he got pulverised by Vlad so all this baragainign chip nonsense is just hot air. The only way he gets into a significantly better bargaining position is if he becomes mandatory to one o the two Klits. Buyt thats too much like hard work now isn't it. That would involve fighting more than once a year and we can't have that now can we

Lets hope his 'back' is well healed by then

Thing is though, Valuev has ribs the size of a brontosaurus, cannot see how you can hurt him to the body. I remember seeing someone shellacking his ribs once repeatedly and he didn't even blink. Punched to the kidneys and hips might be a better idea.

Maybe just twat the bastard in the ear.

Yeah, if Haye had a half decent chin, I'd fancy him to outbox the big lump over 12 rounds with ease. I'm not sure his right hand will dent Valuev too much, because the beast really looks like the immovable object at times..

Or with a Freddie Roach type trainer behind him, getting his tactics right, he could do it.
Not sure about Booth, they talk about game plans, but against Barrett he just seemed to go in there and wing the punches.

I think this is right on the money. It's a clever piece of match-making as it's a fight that is both incredibly marketable and incredibly winnable. While I think he would have got sparked by Vitali, I can honestly see Haye winning this by stoppage.

Could we all refrain from calling David Haye a world champion if he wins a tin-pot belt from a tin-pot organisation.

You wouldn't call Wolves English Champions if they won the Coca Cola Cup.

Its bollacks.

Until Haye beats one or both of the Klitschko's he's no more world champion than Valuev. There is only ONE world fellas, it cant have 2-3-4 champions.

I know you know this, but its important to remember it.

x4, I wonder where Haye would be if he was with Warren? Would he of won the undisputed Cruiser Weight Title? Would he then be challenging for a portion of the world HW title iif he had started his career with Warren?

He certainly wouldn't have been going into a big fight like this with the biggest fighter of all time who is accustomed to 12 rounds on the back of a long forgotten Monte Barrett fight a year ago, away from home.
