Yeah, fair answer.
It just seemed odd to me that he actually gave the count, let you stand up, then waved it off.
It's what could be called "Vegas refereeing" - The ref does a count even though his mind is made up, for a bit of drama.
Other, perhaps more experienced refs, would have made their decision without the 8 count.

Are you for REAL?? You've got no idea how hard it is to win a world am title!!! It's much harder than the olympics I'll say that much as the decisions are a lot harder to score, Eastern Europeans hardly ever lose and yet when Frankie won it he beat the best P4P am boxer on the planet in Tishenko who was unbeaten in 3 years and was reigining European,World & Olympic champion and just won the Olympics again in Beijing!! Frankie beat him easily!! Now tell me that am boxing is weak?? Get real!! Your statement carries NO EVIDENCEwhat so ever!!!

I had a 5 week training camp with good hard sparring 8x3 sessions and went into the fight thinking upsets do happen in boxing. I'm well schooled plenty of amateur experience winning under 20 class B novice title, regional aba title so I honstly thought my dream was possible. Hope I answered your question.

very harsh,i think you will find gavin will go on to do a similar job on many better fighters.also,if you didnt know,there is a big difference between a regional aba and NOVICE champ and our ONLY world amateur champion,the clue is in the titles.graham had just done a lively 6x3s with rocco in his previous bout and is not a bad pro

I think you have mistaken me, I didn't mean Gavin I meant the guy he fought at the weekend winning a aba under 20 fight title, NOT Frankie Gavin winning the world amateur championship.
i got you.i still didnt think it made sense though.as said on here countless times,this game is all aboiut levels and losing in this fashion doesent take away from fearns past achievements

Well let me put it this way then to make it clearer. He didn't look as though he really knew what he was doing, even people who were with me said it and who dont know much about the technical side of boxing. At the end of the day he gave it a go, good on him.

Your comment is still pretty daft mate, seeing as Fearn is 34 now- any comment that links a title won about 15 years ago to the CURRENT state of amateur scene is a bit thoughtless (as in, you havn't thought it through.)
