What Olympic class was better??? 1976 or 1984??? Whivh class gave more historical impact??? Two of the greatest olympic classes of all time. This is a tough one.

1976: Leon & Michael Spinks, Ray Leonard, Howard Davis, Leon Randolph

1984: Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor, Tyrell Biggs, Virgil Hill

It's hard to say really as both teams oozed talent and class but looking at it from an amatuer point of view I would lean to the 1976 team. The reason being that the 1976 team had to battle the Cubans and the Eastern Block countrys who boycotted the 1984 games.

Very good question. I'd go for '76. More depth of talent as a team and as has been pointed out, stiffer competition at the Games. The '84 team fought at home (LA) and the '76 team really went in as underdogs.
As pros, again '76. Mostly successful careers. We could also mention Davey Armstrong and Louis Curtis from Montreal. They didn't medal but had decent pro success.
