I laughed may ass off about that last comment, is this boxing or the knitting club..... FFS
Just revisiting this topic. While promoting the Super Six Showtime super middleweight tournament Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler have become good friends. They are fighting each other in their 3rd fight in the tournament. Bika's comment above really doesn't seem right in light of this.

Mexican Match-Maker,
Sakio wanted the fight with your Boxer 22-0 but the IBO wouldn't sanction it for the Title, they said your boy wasn't ranked in their top 100 so no Title fight? Funny how they sanction a fight between 2 Lt. Heavyweights for their Cruiserweight Title but won't let an undefeated fighter fight their 168lb Champ but that's Boxing?

You should chase Librado Andrade after Bute beats him for a early 2010 or late 09 fight

His next fight is against this bloke http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer,

If Sakio fought at LT Heavy and felt comfortable at the weight I'd like to see Green vs Bika.

Soundkamp,
I understand where you're coming from but Sakio really is finding it incredibly difficult to get fights. We wanted Mexican-Matchmaker's Boxer as a 1st defence of Sakio's IBO 168lb Title but the IBO deemed him not suitable? Personally, I thought that this would've been a good fight but it's not my call. Sakio wanted a tough fight for this coming Thursday & has insisted on this to the promoter who obviously has a budget to stick to so while Moyana isn't the opponent Sakio was hoping for, we are grateful that he has got a fight & Sakio intends on showing everyone just how good of a Boxer he is & put on a show that will get one of the 'Big' name Boxers to take a fight with him?
While I can't say too much, Sakio has a Promotional contract with the Contender, they are supposed to be getting him the 'BIG' fights but not much seems to be happening? I hope that they either get on the case & get him the fights (Super 6 tournament would've been perfect?) or release him & let him make his own destiny. He is in the prime of his life now & is ready to make the most of it, he just needs to get things moving in the right direction.

Winning the Contender really seems to have had the opposite effect that it should have then?

It's a shame that Sakio couldn't find a better opponent.

birchy,

Any chance Bika could get down to middleweight? There must be opportunities there.

Asterix,
Sakio can no longer make 160lbs for fights. His body has filled out too much since he last fought at Middleweight in 2005. He would rather take a fight at Lt. Heavyweight against Jean Pascal for the WBC if the opportunity came up? The Super 6 Tournament would've been great but Sakio is focussed on taking out whoever is in the other corner on Thursday night & then do whatever needs to be done to get his career back on track!
Birchy
PS - 5 year deal with the Contender

Yeah, I thought so. Just wanted to check as he's consistently weighed in at 166 lbs.

Have you gone through the Australian rankings at light heavy to look for an opponent?

It's a shame as Bika is one of the top guys at super middle, and can give anyone a tough fight. I'm guessing The Contender aren't putting forward enough money to get him the fights he deserves.
