COTTO - PACQUIAO
COTTO - PACQUIAO
You suddenly have this match on your schedule (Nov. 14) for Cotto's welterweight title. This is impossible, because, like everybody should know by now, the fight will be a non-title match, happening at a catchweight of 145 lbs. Please remove from your schedule that the match will be for Cotto's belt. Thanks!
Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
Why shouldn't Cotto's belt be at stake? Hopkins vs. De La Hoya was held at a catchweight of 158 lbs. with all middleweight titles on the line. Or was there an official announcement confirming that no title will be at stake?
Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
Traditionally, If the champ & challenger weigh in @ 145, it's for the title.
I don't see no "catchweight".

Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
WBO are discussing it with Cotto/Arum this week on whether it will be on the line
Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
OK then, let's hope it will be, then... although Pacquiao holds IBO/Ring belts one weight class below...
Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
145 is in the welter weight limits of 140-147 so its still a welterweight fightclaudevsq wrote:You suddenly have this match on your schedule (Nov. 14) for Cotto's welterweight title. Re: COTTO - PACQUIAO
Well really there is no lower limit, as long as the boxer is 147 or under he can fight for a welter title. Of course it's highly unlikely that someone under 140 would attempt it.Adamj1987 wrote:145 is in the welter weight limits of 140-147 so its still a welterweight fightclaudevsq wrote:You suddenly have this match on your schedule (Nov. 14) for Cotto's welterweight title. It looks more likely that it will be for the title.
