Dud Main Event

Post by Brute »

Did anybody else think the main event from The Cube last night was the worst fight on the card?
Indonesian Light Middleweight Aswin Cabuy was of comedy value only as he kept slipping over because of the state of his boxing boots, i.e., the soles were balder than dragster tyres. To add insult to injury he quit on his stool when the referee demanded he take the offending boots off. Robert Medley looked embarrassed at the manner of his win.

With the promise of the win or lose purse from a 12 rounder, couldn't Cabuy have put a decent pair of boots on the Bankcard?

Cabuy has fought in Japan, including going the distance with Yamaguchi in a ten rounder. He also has a win over Colomban.

Medley did not supply him with his boots.

Mate sitting there watching the card last night i couldn't agree more, Medley has been building his record ever since the Hlatswayo fight, it's time he stepped up, it's time to push forward and work to a plan, at least challenge the best lt middles here.
Last night i fell asleep watching the card ,it was that exciting, i thought lenny looked confused fighting OLarte, but convincingly won.

Anyone else think that Pauley was given a gift? I keep saying that if your from the Bohul team you need a KO to get a win here in Australia, shameless judging. :shame:
Les Fear was the referee in some of the fights last night. :o

I can't believe a pro as experienced as Cabuy didn't know his boots were a problem going into the bout... absolute shocker.

I thought the rest of the card was ok.

Lenny will be better for seeing something a bit different and getting a few rounds under his belt.

I didn't think Paulley got a gift, I had him winning the fight. It was closer than the scorecards but still a win as he was the more acurate and frequent puncher. Still you always have to worry about his face.

That Kurt bloke looked like a robot.

Kanofski and Costello was alright but if we are being serious these guys should be Aussie gatekeepers. they can give blokes some rounds but neither will progress much further I wouldn't think.

Ganoy was ok too...

I recorded it on IQ and watched it yesterday, it wasn't to bad (Boxrec havent updated the results yet).

Zappa needs to work on his footwork, they are spaced out for the entire fight and when he offloads those big shots loose +30% power, If he fights a pressure fighter (a decent opponent) he wont be able to move as well and find him self in some trouble. I have only watched a couple of Zappa fights and have noticed the same thing so i don't know if this is just a new habit hes gotten into or its something thats hes been doing for a while.

Robot Kurt was the guy that turned down Contender apparently
