Frank Maloney on boxing forums

"Recently I was amused by the comments of the Anorak who go on website forums and pass their comments concerning the careers of professional athletes. I'm not sure what they're called in America but in England we call them Anorak or Trainspotters. They know very little about the game yet they sit and pass judgement on fighters and people in the fight business. These people, in real life, probably wouldn't know a fishhook from a left hook. And if it wasn't for the computer, I wonder just how they would be spending their day?"

Classic Frank.

Other than going to the fights and subscribing to Sky Sports and generally being one of those supporters of the sport that effectively pays for Frank and more importantly his fighters' living I don't know anything about boxing.

Oh, and Frank, if it wasn't for the computer, I'd still be a successful lawyer earning more than you.

You've got to love Maloney, the man's so full of shit he should start his own fertiliser company. So what about the boxers, trainers, boxing journalists, former fighters, etc.. that come on here? Do they count as know nothing anoraks, or not?

I wonder if Frank has ever heard of this old saying;

Empty vessels make the most noise.

The biggest crime on this forum is having more confidence in a fighter than his promoters.

IMO Harrison vs Chi/Barrera would be fight of the year, Calzaghe should be undisputed super middleweight champ and Ricky could take Harris, Mitchell or Gatti.

The truth is easy opponents like Salem, Stewart and Kebede are lined up so everyone makes easy money and the promoters can sit back and write their books and become the major of London.
