Unofficial OZ Champ Ben Edwards scores second KO

Post by funso banjo baby »

Two big first round Ko's

Big Ben needs to stay in the pug sport

he can eclipse the likes of Meehan and Cameron and maybe go all the way to Commonwealth and beyond.

the Aussie Rogan can do it rocky style

:KO: i think your jumping in to early mate the fight with hoppa wasn't really all that everyone knows Ben Edwards had way more ring experience than hoppa at the time and more now than some of the top 10 heavies also his experience in fighting overseas not many top10 fighters are not at that level yet, fighting against world fighters like Peter Sampson,Jay Hepi,Paul Slowinski,Jay Hepi and can't forget Peter Graham etc in K1 , also being a Aussie heavy & superheavy champ in kickboxing tells you he knows what its like to fight for a title not forgetting MMA and to put and ends to his age he's DOB is "17-02-1985" he's 25yrs old not 21.
I think the money in boxing plays big part i know k1,MMA & Kickboxing they shore know how to spend money on their big fighters.
nearly forgot he's a World Chmp winning against RICK CHEEKS ISKA this year.

Shit after looking at it this kid keeps himself pretty busy in sports thumbs up to you ben :TU: you deserve it.

17-2-1985 would make him 24, as I was also born in 1985 and have had my birthday this year.

I hope he does stay in Boxing, He would be a good fighter to throw into the mix. Whether he can beat the likes of Leapi, DeMori and co is a diffrent thing though.

Funso Banjo Baby, Why do you come on here and talk crap about things you know nothing about. Edwards has had 2 fights and he can beat Meehan and Cameron. You really are making a Goose of yourself.

Let him get 10 -15 fights under his belt, Against guys who can fight back and see how he goes. He beat Hoppa which is a decent win. But honestly Hoppa is a d- heavyweight at best. Hoppa isnt even top 5 in this country IMO.

I think the key for Edwards is to have his feeling out period, some good fights for him in Victoria with guys like; Dylan Godard 3-1,
Justin whitehead(fights Solo next month)3-0 and Andre Meniuer 6-1.

No need to import washed up fighters who haven't had a win in the last 10 fights, another idea for Ben put a little muscle on, I hope he doesn't take this the wrong way cause i know he posts here.........and out of all the fighters in the Heavy division this is the last guy i want looking for me :-?

I hope he seriously stays in Boxing because he's got the goods, and this is no way a dig at Kickboxing, but it's kind of ameaturish compared to boxing, he could set himself and his family up for life if he dedicates himself.

I know i didn't fight the best opponent but he was the only guy ready to fight on short notice, i trained 10weeks to fight that night and i would rather fight Sam than nobody. Thanks to Sam for taking the fight. I dont want easy fights, id rather lose a hard fight against a good opponent than win to an easy one, ive proved that in my kickboxing carrer...i fought the WMC ( Full thai rules ) world champion 18months after my first fight. Il prove that statement to the boxing community in time, im not the best fighter out there but il come to fight anyone.

I appreciate the faith Funso but i know im a long way from fighting the likes of Meehan and Cameron, i know its very very early in my boxing career and im not getting ahead of myself, im just going to take it one fight at a time and see what happens. Im making 1/5 of the money in boxing that i currently make in kickboxing so until that changes im still gonna be in the kicking game.

Why do i need to put some muscle on? Don't i hit hard enough? am i not explosive enough? I though this was boxing not bodybuilding....There are a lot of benifts to having some extra body fat as a heavyweight fighter as long as you have the body type to carry it without affecting you fitness....same as an islander bodytype....I like to have the extra 15kgs or so behind my punch and i like to have the 'padding' around my gut. If you dont like watching my fat ass knock people out stick to watching roid heads oil up and flex their ass cheeks on stage. Sorry to get a bit fired up but if i perform who cares what i look like?

Just because im not ripped doesn't mean i dont put in the effort, i train as hard and sacrifice as much as any pro out there.
