Joe Calzaghe has retired and is now promoting boxing and appearing in awful music videos. You might want to remove him from your list.

Neither of the heavyweights should be there, they are short of European class and will never get there.
I maintain Ola Olafabi should be there as your previous arguments to omit him have never held any water with me.
I also agree JC has retired.

Enzo and Sam Sexton are not P4P top 30.

Not sure why Paul McCloskey has dropped out, either, unless it's simply a result of being "moved down." I'd rank him higher than Rees, for sure.

Michael Jennings could have a claim at being top 30.

IDK, you cant have Rogan in there and then not the man who just beat him, can you? I rate McCloskey, the Lynes win IMO puts him above most of the 20-30 on that list, its a shame to see him out, but then he has not fought since that has he? I know there have been reasons, but still...

Joe Calzaghe is retired

Nicky Cook too high and he lost his last fight
Alex Arthur too high
Ian Napa too high
Matt Skelton too high

Anthony Small too high
Enzo Maccarinelli shouldn't be on the list, way too high
Gavin Rees hasn't fought for 15 months should be off the list and he is way too high
Paul McCloskey (Irish), he is at least top 20

Horse, do you realise how biased you are to FW and Welsh fighters

Skelton was the European champion just a few months ago, Rogan beat Skelton while he was European champion and then Sexton beat him. I think that these Heavyweights do have a good chance of being succesful at the European level.

I will consider entering Afolabi after his next win. Unfortunately Afolabi doesn't have any fights scheduled at the moment.

Where's Michael Jennings ?

Napa and Skelton way too high.

Froch below Haye. If you are putting Olusegun in, where's Afolabi ?

He was the WBO champion less than 5 months ago, so I think it would be unfair to have him too much lower on the list. His proposed fight with Burns should help to sort out whether he should be as high as he is or not.

He may be a few places too high after his loss to Rogan, but he was the European champion before his loss, is a former British and Commonwealth champion and a former world title challenger. Skelton has one of the better records on the list, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt after his loss to Rogan.

Napa has wins over Booth, Haskins, Power, Moffett and Ballone. So, quite clearly, Napa has beaten a number of fighters of note and quite recently as well.

Maccarinelli has been on bad form recently, but he has been losing to good fighters. A lot of the fighters below him have not fought fighters close to the class of fighters that Maccarinelli has been losing to. Sexton beat Rogan so I felt I had to include him.
whicker wrote:Not sure why Paul McCloskey has dropped out, either, unless it's simply a result of being "moved down." I'd rank him higher than Rees, for sure.
McCloskey fell out because other fighters overtook him whilst he wasn't fighting. McCloskey will return to the list after his next win.
whicker wrote:Michael Jennings could have a claim at being top 30.
Jennings needs to win a fight to return to the list, so I will have to wait until he picks up a win again before I re-enter him.

Paul McCloskey defended his British title against Dean Harrison in March. I moved him up a few places for that win in the April rankings, but that still wasn't enough to keep him in the list this month. Hopefully he will fight again soon, so people won't have a go at me for McCloskey not being in the rankings.

These fighters have achieved quite a bit in their careers. I would prefer the fighters below them to prove their worth before overtaking successful fighters like these.
brian13 wrote:Anthony Small too high

Anthony Small is the British and Commonwealth champion and has been on a good run of wins recently: Takaloo, Curiel and Hall. Who below Small should be above him? Maccarinelli is a former WBO champion and has only been losing against good fighters. He dropped 12 places for the Lebedev loss and I thought that was enough.
brian13 wrote:Gavin Rees hasn't fought for 15 months should be off the list and he is way too high
Paul McCloskey (Irish), he is at least top 20
Rees is 29th on the list, so I really don't think that he is way too high, based on his previous achievements and that of the fighters who would take his place. McCloskey is a very good fighter who will return to the list after his next win.
brian13 wrote:Horse, do you realise how biased you are to FW and Welsh fighters
I don't think that I am biased towards either allegedly's fighters or the Welsh.

Finch wrote:Where's Michael Jennings ?
Jennings is not currently ranked in the top 30. Jennings best two wins in the last 3 and a half years are wins over Takaloo and Minter. That is not good enough to maintain a constant presence in the top 30.
Finch wrote:Napa and Skelton way too high.
They are both former European champions and have only recently lost their titles. They both have title fights in September, if they lose then they will fall.
Finch wrote:Froch below Haye. If you are putting Olusegun in, where's Afolabi ?
I didn't consider Afolabi to be British at the time of his win over Maccarinelli, so I didn't enter him after his win. Since then it has come to my attention that a large majority of people do consider Afolabi to be British, so I will most likely enter him into the rankings after his next win.

Froch's best wins are over Taylor, Pascal and Magee. Haye's best wins are over Fragomeni, Mormeck and Maccarinelli. I think that Froch's wins are arguably better than Haye's wins, and Froch has got his victories recently, whilst Haye beat his best opponents over a year ago. So I think that Froch should be above Haye at the moment, at least until Haye can get himself another big win.

He beat Dean Harrison in 4 rounds back in March and he'll be fighting again in September.
Gavin Rees hasn't fought since March either..........although that was March 2008.
Granted Rees is fighting in 4 weeks time but my general point is what the fornicate is Rees doing there ?
