WA Fights Tonight!!!

Post by N2 Shape »

Mark De Mori 105kgs VS Kevin Karusa 157kgs

Im not sure even Butterbean was as heavy as Kevin when he fought in OZ?? In anycase Karusa will be the heaviest guy to fight in OZ in sometime. He does actually move quite well for a big guy, and De Mori needs to be careful early on as for a round maybe 2 Karusa can throw a thudding punch! De Mori is at least staying active here and helping promote boxing in WA!!!

De Mori TKO3 - Attraction Fight of the Night 150+KG Karusa VS a Hevyweight Prospect!

Andrew Green 82kgs VS Jeff Stutt 79kgs

Is the old Tiger VS the young Lion in this one. Stut is a stop or be stopped kind of guy never having been the distance in a winning or losing performance!! Green has won his first 2 in the 1st round, this may only be over 4 rounds but i wouldnt expect it to go the distance given both guys history. Id have to say this is a small step up for Green, and Stutt will likely test him at least!

Green TKO3 - Edge of your seat fight of the Night will be a Stoppage but for who?

Clint Hosking 58kgs VS Manu Emery 60kgs

Good fight this one, Emery is a tough guy and jumped at the chance to take this fight. Potental fight of the night here, evenly matched on paper Emery will not go down without a fight dont know much about Hosking but he would probably be the favourite with hometown advantage in his corner.

Hosking MD4 - Back and forth fight of the Night who wants it most?

Pieter Cronje VS Oscar Talemaira

Talemaira is well past his "best" not sure what shape hes in for this one and he hasnt trained for his last few fights, but i hear Pieter has been focusing more on Rugby Union that this fight so he maybe a little rusty but at least reasonably fit. Does Talemaira have one LAST bit of motivation in him to at least put up a fight here? I think Cronje may take a round maybe 2 to get warmed up before splattering Talemaira.

Cronje KO2 - KO of the night

Cronje KO2 - KO of the night

Good summary of the fights mate.

On thing though. There's no home town favoritism here. Whoever wins the rounds will win the fight.
Brad Vocale has taught all us guys here in Perth, And its red corner Vs Blue corner and nothing else in between :TU:

DeMori Ko 5
Cronje KO 5
Green UD .
Hoskins UD .

DeMori outboxed his opponent with a great jab and some really good body shots. He could have stopped the fight earlier though seemed content to get some rounds under his belt.

Cronje did likewise. He had Oscar down in the first. Then down twice in the 4th then finished him in the 5th.

Green won every round in a tough fight. He landed the harder shots although Stutt did have his moments in the fight..
Hoskins won convincingly in his fight. Emery was tough as nails and took all the punishment and just wouldnt stop. I thought a few times he may have gone down but his toughness really showed in the end. He lost every round but put up a brave effort.

So my predictions werent quite on the money although picked all the winners!!!

Looks like De More and Cronje got in the ronds they wanted.

Green VS Stutt sounds like fight of the night, I thought Stutt would be the step up Green was looking for. Good matchup. At 40 Stutt probably has a few decent fights left in him to test young un in commers!!

I knew Emery wouild be tough, he can take it sounds as though Hosking was just to skilled for him tonight. Emery is the kind of guy who will always keep comming, good fight for Hosking

Yes Stutt Vs Green was the fight of the night. IMO.

Green landed more shots but Stutt really made him earn his victory. They exchanged hard punches in all of the rounds. Green hurt him in the second but couldnt finish him.
It was a good test for Green. Stutt tested his chin and his fitness.

well done to all involved, we were on a very small budget but the whole thing went well and I have only had positive feedback from the people that came, the kiwi boys all came to fight and it turned out a good night for local boxing, hopefully things start to pick up in WA now with some more regular cards to keep the guys busy.
