Always believed this would happen, Alexander wanted it more.

Witter should retire, 35 years old now, isn't going to get any better.

One judge had witter losing every round, the other two had given him just one round.

Witter got rocked early a couple of times and went into survival mode. Ref went over and warned him about throwing one punch then holding the rest of the round and he just quit. Shocking.

If he's just going to quit like that then he should definitely call it a day

pissed

Quitting like that is inexcuable. I understand it was typical witter, posing and sending a text message to his opponent telling him what shot he was about to throw

I was utterly convinced this fight didnt go 12 rounds and could have gotten 2/1 for that.

I have this fight as part of a multi-sport bet and the boxing part has all come in, now what I need to do is hope for the football/cricket/athletics to come through and then I'll be laughing

Alexander v Khan

Unification. Unbeaten american. Thats got a do a few PPVs

There was no titles at stake at that point. I don't remember anyone calling for that fight. Witter only started shouting out Hatton after he won the world title and there was serious money to be made. :TU:

but to quit like that? I am shocked.
He probably knew he was going to lose, once you get that doubt in your head then you've had it, he just wanted out of there.

No one has heard of Alexander and to be honest beating Witter doesn't prove much. If this fight had been shown in the UK then maybe there is some interest. It wasn't and that's probably a good thing for Witter. The one thing that does make Alexander attractive to Warren is that he can't punch. That is the most important factor when picking a Khan opponent IMO. :TU:

just caught the end of the fight, what the fornicate happened there? witter looked absolutely crap in the bit i saw. hes definetly looking on the slide, i think he has looked poor since kotelnik to be honest.

i wonder if witter himself just felt he didn't have it any more and decided to call it a day.

He says his elbow went but his body language and indeed some of his words betray him. Whatever he had is gone obviously.
Never a great way for any fighter to go out. To be honest I was never a fan. The only time he every impressed me was against Vivien Harris. Some of Witter's fights really were a penance. The phony war with Corley and the horrible affair with Morua were pretty horrendous.
I hope he retires. For our and his benefit. :TU:

We obviously must have differing recollections then, I clearly remember Witter calling out Hatton before they both won a world title, the whole Hatton insisting on it being in the contract was before too I believe. I went to the pre Tzsyu Hatton fights at the MEN Arena and Witter was well known among the crowd, he was regularly booed on the undercard as the villain who wanted to fight Hatton.

Back to the fight tonight, Witter said he would fight on, I don't think he should personally.
