A message to the Witter admiration society...

Post by Jedi Knight »

What is the attraction guys....??? :o :o

What you've got is a 30 year old switch hitter who makes very average fighters look silly with his style and calls out all and sundry for fight..!

Witter has fought 1 current or ex-world champ in 32 fights..

How the hell does this give him any credentials to even be considered for a title shot let alone one of the best in Europe...? eh..?

In the last three years he has mixed with handy journeymen at best, to mention some names..:

Alan Bosworth - Lost 10 fights at the time and currently has lost more than he's won.
David Kirk - Lost 29 fights at the time now he's lost 52.. :o
Fred Kinuthia - only a year ago had 8 wins and since then has lost his last 6.

I could pick out possibly 2 names from Witter's resume that stand out, obviously Judah and maybe Bergman but other than that his opponents have been hand picked to make him look like the next Hamed...

Now it may be that Witter is a good fighter but how the hell can anyone know this when he hasn't mixed it up with any semi-class fighters....apart from Zab and we all know what happened there....

Showtime refuse to broadcast a fight with Judah in it which is why you'll never see him on the same bill as Hatton.

Final Comment

I am not comparing Witter to Hatton simply because you can't. Witter has the record of a journeyman (if you look at calibre not losses) and Hatton has mixed it up with ex-world champs and top ten fighters (hopefully a title shot.... :-? ) But to me they are both at totally different stages in there carreer and remember Witter is 30..

Even though Witter has no big names apart from Judah on his record you have to remember that he is blowing these guys away. Im right behing Hatton but im one of many who feel that he should be taking care of business at home first. We got all the talk of the Witter fight being part of Hattons contract and it hasnt happened.

Why did we have to put up with Pederson and Vilches when Witter was saying he would take the fight? Witter isnt even asking for mega money.
I think Witter deserves his shot at Witter. He is an attraction because people are curious if he can blow away better fighters. His european title win makes him a more worthy challenger than any other british fighter.
Im very disappointed that this showdown was hyped up so much and hasnt happened
