Looks like the Roy Jones story comes to an end in 2004...

Not for me, sure it would have been nice to have seen Jones up against Benn, Eubank, Collins and Michaelswecki. However, those fights were impossible to make because of the demands of their opponents. If the promoters gave way to the money demands of Collins they would have been banckrupt (Collins demanded 8 million).bugs wrote:So for years people have been suggesting Jones ducks fighters, now he has faced two good fighters and been knocked out twice. There will be questions about his legacy.
Fair enough, just there is always two sides to the argument - did Jones duck them, or did they make it impossible with their demands for the fight to have taken place?bugs wrote:Stu,
I was not making a judgment as such, I was simply pointing out that a lot of people (To bee honest I have not seen him fight enough to know) suggest that he has ducked good fighters where possible, and losing to two who are of a reasonably high standard in a row will highlight those questions.
should have been a draw.
