Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
Just read on fightnews that they're in serious talks and it could be signed by this weekend. It's popped up on boxrec aswell.
I think this will be a lot more competitive than the Judah fight. Still, even at 37, I think N'dou will have too much for Hatton who should focus on domestic honours.

Re: Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
why should he focus on the domestic scenen when he is getting offered the chance to fight for a world title against a 37 year old veteran>?
the money must be better and its a better platform for him so i say go for it

That's a far comment if he pulls it off, I just don't see him in that class.DAVE2005 wrote:why should he focus on the domestic scenen when he is getting offered the chance to fight for a world title against a 37 year old veteran>?

And it's not really a 'world' title anyway.
Good luck to him though...

joke
al beat kevin anderson , al beat ali nuumbembe, "great fight for the north west that one, natural fight", al beat Brook.......if a fough Craig Watson again I'd beat him cos I'm better than him......I definitely could see myself as a world champion one day......"would you fight your brother??" asks some dumb as f*ck reporter for a Sunday paper....."World Champion vs. World Champion?"......no no I'd never fight me brother (obviously!)....come in, have a cup of tea and I'll tell you all bout how if we was both World Champions I'd never fight me brother.....
This man has never made it his business to get in the ring and fight for the British title and in my opinion after more fights (I'd guess)...than anyone in the British top 30 that just says to me it's cos he's never fckin fancied it.
Go peddle your IBO crap elsewhere.
NB...actually according to Boxrec's ratings (a little dodgy although I appreciate there's some kind of points thing at play boxing Monthly's more accurate let's just say.......you gotta go to number 55 in the ratings to find a fighter with more fights than MH, and it's Billy Smith, who let's be honest is anything from a super bantam to a light middle probably)
so there we go I take it all back, he must have just, and to continue t be..just unlucky with getting shots.
throw him to Jamie Cox I say.....THAT, I would tune in for.

I expect N'dou to walk through Hatton with no trouble at all.
N'dou beats Matthew, Ricky wants N'dou.

N'Dou v Witter.
Did I say that out loud?

Re: Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
Word is “Magic” Matthew Hatton takes on experienced and durable South African (by way of Australia) Lovemore Ndou in a 12-rounder shortly.
The younger brother of Ricky tries another Ben Tackie against the faded, 37-year-old Ndou, Tackie being the faded, 36-year-old African Hatton outscored over 10 rounds in the States last November. (Both Hattons, in fact, have outpointed the rock-hard Ghanaian.) It was a decent win for 28-year-old Matthew, who was well-outscored by fellow Mancunian Craig Watson for the Commonwealth welterweight title last summer but has since won four on the spin and showed against Tackie that he can put his punches together neatly and effectively if not powerfully.
No, Matthew is not a puncher but that makes zero difference against Ndou, never stopped in 59 fights and 16 years as a pro. Surnames on Ndou’s resume include Cotto, Cintron, Witter (who did drop him a couple of times but messed up his right hand in the process) and many other far harder punchers than Hatton, so we can expect a distance fight and Hatton to try and box his way to the points.
According to boxrec, however, the match takes place in South Africa, where Ndou will enjoy all the home comforts if it is close, nay, if it is not even close. Hatton needs to do something magical out there to get the verdict and, despite his nickname, one is not sure he has the ability to pull it off. Ndou, for all his years, still possesses the strength and aggression to keep Hatton ‘brave’.

Lovemore is a machine.
A very fit man. Hatton will need fight the fight of his life to beat him over 12 away from home.

I think Lovermore will win he is a very good fighter and has fought at the highest level I fancy N'Dou to win on points

Terry D wrote:Wins over Tackie and Bami are pretty decent, why do you always run him down? With that said it should be brought to light that Matt currently sits at #55 in the IBO rankings (you need to be within the top fifty to fight for this title) and Lovemore is in #27ish place, this since he won their title. Wow, that IBO title is so highly regarded its own holder lies outside the top twenty.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:joke

If Lovemore wins his next fight takes place in a 20-tiered pagoda, with each fighter ranked above him taking up a level. Hopefully, by the time he gets to Margarito (banned, shamed, #2 in the IBO list) he will have validated his 'champion' status, then again...
Anyway, ludicrous title heading aside (Matthew's eliminator versus Bami was scheduled when the IBO website was proudly proclaiming itself 'proud to be supporting the Ricky Hatton-Manny P' contest, and when a certain show needed a headline for its 'headline' bout) it is a good, winnable fight for Matt, and I hope he does win it.
in short Terry I think he's a self publicist that doesn't back it up where it counts, in the ring. And Bami was horrendous he hadn't had a good result in ages. He got comprehensively and widely beaten by Barnes, and lost the Prizefighter he was favourite to win. Fair play he had been given something like 6 weeks notice...which on the outside suggested hope of a decent contest but truth is Bami didn't turn up, I mean come on, didn't he pull out in the corner after 5 or 6 rounds without having been in trouble? either that or he was stopped on a very run of the mill body shot..it wasn't the real Bami anyway.
I haven't run him down in ages I just think he's a ducker and his record backs it up. Oh, and a whingeing excuse maker.
Re: Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
I'd beat Craig Watson if we fought againbecause I'm better than him and I had a bad night
Fck off......just twink the names a bit and it's been the same story for years.
Throw him to Jamie Cox......or O'Donnel.......or Muttley......or Jennings.........or Brook..........ANYONE!!!!

Re: Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
He got widely beaten by Watson for the commonwealth title. I was unfortunate enough to be at that event. And everyone knows that British is normally a higher level than Commonwealth. So he's not even domestic level in my opinion. Fair enough make a living but please don't talk that World Title crap and think we are all going to buy it!

be fair to Watson i think he would be a worthy british champ. but basically i agree, look back to (say) when Jennings/Mutley were british champs, i would have picked either of them plus Watson plus Kevin Anderson, probably Lomax and John O'Donnell to beat MHattonwinkveron wrote:He got widely beaten by Watson for the commonwealth title. He is getting beaten anyways, regardless of the legitamcy of the world title at stake
Would have loved Kell Brook to go in with this guy. Perhaps once he deals with Hatton we can see the fight

Wouldn't be surprised to see Matthew Hatton win this. He is lucky he bottled the Judah fight. He would have been badly hurt in that one.

Re: Matthew Hatton To Fight Lovemore N'dou For IBO Title
Just for the record it was Zab Judah who bottled out of the fight with Matthew Hatton, after saying he would smash Matthew and then big brother Ricky. Matthew was actually in training preparing for Judah, and in my humble opinion would have beaten the mouthy Yank. Matthew Hatton is now a different fighter than the one who boxed out of the Phoenix Camp and will prove it again when beating Lovemore Ndou
