Best at Mens 152 pounds.

I have been out of the amateur scene for quite some time, I am hoping to get everyone's opinion on who the best at 152 and why they are the best. A summary of some of the top fighters would be appreciated. I haven't had the chance to watch amateur boxing over the past two years and before I stopped watching I followed the 152 pound class the closest, which is why I am curious. Thanks a lot.

yea bro umm the best at 152 rite now is Errol Spence outta Dallas.
hes beaten the best of the best with wins over Eduardo Alicea,Jevontae Starks,Steven Martinez,Wesley Paddilla, Glen Tapia.

hes got a throwback entertaining style.
he can do alot of things box,brawl,counter punch
hes the southpaw terry norris or meldrick taylor.

How would you compare his style and ability to the last class of Keith Thurman, Charles Hatley, William Jackson, and Demetrius Andrade? I thought I saw some losses on his record to Starks or some of the other 152 pounds fighters. I also read he has only been boxing for a few years, which is pretty impressive that he has moved so quickly. Is it true he has only been boxing for a few years?

umm comparing style hes more like charles hatley since they sparred while errol was coming up.

to my knowledge he has never lost to starks. the both times they fought in the finals of the 2008 national PAL and the 2009 national golden gloves.but jevontae has given him very good fights.

yea its true. hes been boxing for a pretty good number of years tho.

I don't know Errol personally, but I know several of the other 152's. Errol is very good, but he is young. Most of the top 152's are young. I think this group could do well with more international experience. Spence did well in Italy so I'm hoping for him to do well at the World Championships.

yea at the 2009 usa nationals
errol won 7-2

which is relatively a low score.
alicea wasnt dominated and could have came back.

Big Ed - that is basically what I was saying in the other thread - 152 vs 165. Eddie is very good and I think he should be battling for the top spot and a trip to London in 2012. The question is how bad does he want to win gold? Making the team is not enough. You have to be able to qualify too. Finally, you have to work very hard so that you are ready for all the international crap - holding, wrestling, rabbit punches, holding and hitting, forearms, elbows, lacing with the gloves (not really lacing anymore when the gloves have velcro, but it accurately depicts what I'm trying to describe), and all the other stuff. Being the best in the U.S. isn't enough anymore. You have to dominate in the U.S. if you want to medal in London. Don't slack off for even a moment. This holds true for all of our boxers in every weight class.

u r right about that Dennis, those guy's over seas aren't no joke! they come to fight!! and they r in shape and big. And its true those dudes fight with everything they got. elbows,holding, hitting behind the head, what ever it takes to win.

Most have fought each other.
Ed beat Jovontae is the US men.
But lost to Errol Twice.
Leandre beat Ed 4 times, but lost to him twice. Also beat Errol Once but lost to him twice as well.
Jovontae lost to errol twice and never beat him.

These guys are very good, but i only feel that Ed and errol will stay till 2012.
I like and feel Ed is a big hopeful for 2012.

Javontae Starks is out of the picture because he'll be making his pro debut in two or three months.

Regis Prograis from Houston, via New Orleans, won the 152 open title at Ringside.
He will fight at 141 for PAL, GG, & USAs.
