i think williams is all wrong for pavlik, southpaw with long arms and movement = get his shots offf first and circle round the plodding pavlik all night, IMO. Pavlik need to get off first and needs to establish his jab, neither of which williams will allow, IMO. long night for Pav.

I think Pavlik sparks Williams.. :(

I don't half feel sorry for Williams!! He's the most avoided man in boxing full stop!! Pavlik's people know he's been streched in the gym by heavier lads!! They'll be banking on a KO win.

tony i think pavlik would need a transplant of his entire lower body to put himself into position to KO williams, Pav just too flatfooted and slow to get his shots off, i think williams will stop him getting set with his feet which he needs to do.

Im hoping pavlik can return as good as he was pre-hopkins, but im not so sure if the manner of the hopkins defeat has done the same to pavlik as joe did to lacy. He looked slow and one dimensional in his last outing, there was no spark there... Still, personally hope Kelly can regain the buzz and cut Williams down. We'll see.

I never thought Pavlik was as good as he was made out to be anyway. He always fights hand picked oppenments who are smaller than him or he thinks are over the hill and that's why he thought Hopkins because he always banged on about that he could beat Calazaghe.

Pavliks natural weight is probably in the super middle range and so when he fights middleweights or even natural light middles he looks good and powerful.

I think Williams can beat him, if he manages to avoid Pavliks big swings early on.

Great fight this. I'm thinking a Williams UD at the moment, unless Pavlik catches him with something huge.

Is this signed and sealed or just rumoured?

A bit unfair when he fought Taylor on the back of Taylors two Nard victories.

A bit like Lacy he was looking good banging out opponents left right and centre till he moved into eliete class. Then, well, he was simply out thought.

Brilliant, let's hope this one really is one & there is not postponments or anything like that! Negotiations have been a long & drawn out process so I'm glad its has been resolved 7 the fight is happening!

Williams will beat Pavlik quite comprehensively imo! Paul is taller, has a longer reach, a southpaw, punches hard 7 has a great workrate! I look for Williams to maybe box a bit more in this one - not stay on the inside as much.

I like Williams - I hope he reaches whatever targets he has in the sport! He seems a nice person. Only thing is, if he beats Pavlik, the shortlist of opponents who want to face Paul may get even shorter!

1 of the fights on my wish list this 1, the 2 very best middleweights going toe-toe, both in their prime both cleaned out some of the best fighters. Speed versus Power, Strength versus Movement, Volume versus Pavliks face  I fancy Wiliams to pull it off but Pavlik is the bigger stronger man and Williams chins is going to get checked in this 1. You will have to give a whole lot of kudos to Williams if he pulls this off, the same to Pavlik who is taking on his no1 contender now Abraham has left the division.

I wonder if there has ever been this much cumulative height in 1 MW world title fight? 6'1+6'3 sounds like HW heights, nevermind the reach

Pavliks problem is his trainer Jack Lowe... a complete idiot. For that reason, he'll fight this fight and his strategy will be to "double the jab and throw the right hand". Williams will have a session of target practice in the fight. Pavlik can take a beating but I think he's getting stopped here.

I'd go with Pavlik.

I think the Wright victory flattered Williams, and I'm not sold on Pavlik being ruined.

I'm sure Williams can make light middle. I very much doubt he can make welter. He was weighing 17 lbs more over night when he fought at welter!
