Not forgetting Barrera.....

Another year of upsets continues, and the superstars are falling like a house of cards. So, three down, one to go?

Or is Trinidad going to come blasting back, like he's never been away?

After the last few years of lounging around on the beach, having his servants fetch him Pina Coladas, eating whatever he damn well pleases - has Tito gone soft?

Will the alarm bells start ringing as a ferocious mad man starts trying to take his head off on Saturday night?

I can see Mayorga blasting a shell shocked Trinidad back into retirment, I'm afraid.

Really we just don't know, because we don't know how good or bad Trinidad will be. His last fight was a typical demolition job against Cherifi, where he looked as confident and powerful as he ever has. That guy would beat Mayorga handily.

Inactivity affects some fighters more than others. Is Tito the type who desperately needs rounds to get his sharpness back? It's not like his footwork was ever up to much even in his heyday. And he was always prepared to miss 3 punches to land 1.

Whatever happens it's going to be interesting to found out what happens when that left hook first crashes onto Mayorga's exposed jaw.

Inactive for a long period, always suspect at taking a shot....and he faces a solid chinned, hard hitting wildman of boxing. So what if Mayorga can be outboxed? Trinidad isn't a boxer he is a banger...when they go to war Trinidad will fall.

Trinidad has shown himself more than capable of boxing on the back foot in the past. And suspect at taking a shot but only stopped once in 41 fights, and that being in the 12th round when Tito was exhausted?

Mayorga is so easy to hit. I just cant see him winning unless Trinidad is completely gone.

Putting Trinidad down and keeping him down are two different things. I'd back Mayorga to score a knockdown, but there's no way i'd back him to win with a knockout. Besides, Mayorga doesn't hit that hard, his power is way overrated.

I wonder what Mayorga will look like as a middle, he was terrible last time out apparently at lightmiddle. Mayorga will be in front of him and Tito will take him apart.

Not sure last time out will tell us too much. He must've been very under motivated: facing a, literally, last minute sub in a non title fight.

No way anyone is going to not be motivated, getting in the ring with the Puerto Rican icon.

And Mayorga defintely hits hard. No-one is going to cold cock Forrest without having a serious punch on them.
Ok, it was at 147 - but Tito carried his punch up the weights with little effect.

this is a really tough fight for Tito.

Mayorga may be crude but he's strong, wild and has a chin. I hope Tito looks dazzling because we need him back but I'm not 100% confident in saying Tito beats Mayorga. I've heard Tito has trained hard for this fight so he is in shape but will the rust be there?

I'm a bit worried for Tito, a really stupid fight to take on your comeback. Maybe they think Mayorga will be ineffective at the higher weight but whatever happens this will be a little war.

Tricky one to call based on no-one will know what Trinidad will turn up. Also, he's looked fat every time I have seen pictures of him - He looked pretty much a heavyweight in December on the Joppy vs Hopkins show. I know he's had some time to prepare, but its still a worry.

Mayorga though himself may not be 100% focused on the fight, rape charges, fighting at middleweight? He seems to have gone off the rails after his loss to Spinks and maybe the perfect opponent for Trinidad for these reasons.

It has been pushing 10 months since Tito officially announced he was returning, he seems a sensible, intelligent, man. I don't think he would have returned if the tank was empty. So I tentatively go for a Trinidad win via mid to late stoppage.
