You can make a person resign no matter who is paying their salary. Patrick did work for USAB, he was an USAB employee, paid by USAB and his title was the High Performance Director of USAB. The USOC just reimbursed USAB for his salary. That was the agreement between USAB and USOC to continue to get additional funding. Now that USAB forced him to resign by not doing certain things that they were required to do, the USOC is going to be less willing to help USAB out financially. SMART MOVE - bite the hand that feeds you!
Please note the sarcasm indicated by the all caps.
No one forced him to resign. He is leaving on his own.

And from what a lot of people have said, it's because he's been getting undercut and bad mouthed a lot of the way by other people.

Are you really going to try and get me on a tech, Dennis? If the USOC reimbursed USAB for Patrick's salary, who would you think was paying him?

Jim - there is a legal term called "constructive discharge". Just because a person resigns doesn't mean he wasn't being forced out by intolerable working conditions.

Mel - He is an USAB employee by definition.

Mel - The National Director of Coaching was an USAB employee just like the High Performance Director. The USOC reimbursed USAB for both of their salaries.

Now that Linda Gleason and Patrick Borkowski have resigned, I think there will only be 2 or 3 full time employees and 2 or 3 part time employees. I'm glad that Julie Goldsticker will be back writing press releases, media updates and news reports on the USAB website.

Mike Martino, Interim CEO
Cathy Newell, Executive Assistant
Dale Sprowls, Accounting Asst.
Lynette Smith, Director of Membership Services
Rose Tenorio, Membership Services Manager

All of the above are full time (except Martino, technically)

Julie Goldsticker is part time, being paid by a USOC NGB Media Grant.

The #1's and #2's will get their monthly stipend about 7-10 days after they set up their USADA accounts and complete all the necessary info including the whereabouts filings. It is a PITA for them to do, but required before they will get paid.

Now that we are starting to get a few more people back in the USAB offices, I hope they will start to update the website more often. I would like to see all of the athlete profiles from the 2009 USA National Championships posted on the website.

Wow! After leaving in such a huff - they must have offered him something good.

Not necessarily. It is a very tight economy with high unemployment. Good for employers like USAB who have had financial problems and a recent history of high employee turnover.

At least you admit to stupidity! Just kidding. Andrew Madigan was the Events manager who quit right before the US Championships in Denver. A really nice person.

If USAB hired Andrew back after he resigned maybe there is hope that Patrick Borkowski will be hired back.
