Pubs in london showing hatton?

Post by Wales »

Anyone know of any decent pubs in the area showing the hatton fight, im down this weekend to see Billy connolly at hammersmith odeon and staying at the westminster inn (westminster i presume!!).

Any help would be useful, if i know where to go I can say to the missus "oh, I hear there is a nice pub over here, very classy apparently" :TU:

Try The Pride of Pimlico, 85 Tachbrook Street, SW1.

They usually show the fights.

Who gives a shit? There'll be about as much big fight atmosphere around this fight as there would be for 2 squirrels grappling in Regents Park.

Sounds like you're staying in a pub :D

Try this link once you know your post code - any bar with a TV will probably put it on the fights if you ask them - just lie through your teeth and say it's a "Big Fight".

Seriously, now I'm over the Harris disappointment, with Stewart being a come forward slugger, this will likely be a very good all action fight.

Even if Hatton is a heavy fav.

I watched the Amir Khan quarter final in the Sports cafe and whilst it was a decent atmosphere it's not exactly a boxing crowd. Atmos was better for the Lithuania basketball afterwards.

My recommendation, especially for a Welshman, would be the Famous Three Kings (F3K) in West Kensington. Shows all the Welsh rugby you could ever wish to see, serves Brains occasionally, gets a good sports crowd in and is bound to be showng the Hatton fight - great place to watch sport of all types. The landlord there used to run Evergreens in Covent Garden which was exactly the same (if a little grottier) before it got turned into one of those Dutch beer emporia which turn your head into concrete for two days afterwards.

If it's Saturday you're seeing him, and you're out in time for a drink after, turn left out the Apollo and take the first left down to the river. There's some great pubs there - as opposed the other pubs in Hammersmith, which are pretty bad!!

Thanks for all your help chaps, much appreciated!!

Must share my nightmare though, got out of a restaurant at about 09:30 (by victoria station) and trolled to the first pub, they didnt have sky but said "try the camel just down that road, they'll be showing it" BONUS!! got to the camel about 09:45, full of studenty types, skysports 1 on (think it was rugby) got the beers in and proceeded to wait for the fight. 10:03 build up starts so i went to the loo, didnt want to miss the action, return from the toilet MTV!!!!! Straight to the bar "sky sports 1 sky sports 1" the response.... "sorry mate, boxing and beer will only lead to one thing, the whole pub will go off mate". Out of the camel and back towards the hotel, hoping for a pub showing the fight, pub1 (victoria i think) nothing, nearer the hotel pub 2 fight is on YES!!

Get into pub 2, notice its the 5th already, jesus felt like we only just left the camel 2mins ago, straight to the bar (backwards so i can see the3 screen), tuen to bar maid "pint and a half of kronie please" turn back stewart is on the floor! fight over.

Got to see the highlights, looked a decent fight, then on the bottom of the screen before the adverts "gomez up next". Every cloud and all that, back to the bar.

Gomez fight starts, gets to the fith and he takes a pasting, here we go, fights on BOOM, tv off "sorry mate, at last orders we turn the telly off". Rush back to the hotel room, ssnews on, gomez kayo 6!!!

Nevermind, could have been worse :-?
