I missed it, someone told me it was just like a glorified sparring session  Was Nelson rightfully deducted points by the novice referee?

Johnny Nelson must be the only visiting fighter to Germany to have won three fights there.
Can't think of anyone else off the top of my head. Henry Cooper had three fights there and only won one.

Guru,

Completely agree - Nelson fought with some authority vs May. I think it was is most convincing display since he first won the title. He took every round (apart from the one he lost points) in my book.

May gave it his all, and you know if a solid European level operator. However, Nelson FOUGHT May, every shot had some vicious intend and his reflexes looked sharp. Perhaps, him known May so well had something to do with it (no fear about what he could recieve), however, I take my hat off to him - great display.

I know I have been critical of Johnny in the past, and I still stand by those criticisms. However, if he fights like that from now on - he could reign for some time and win some fans.
