Just for the record guys my original post was a fairly sensible non scathing critique of people placing too much stock in small hall fighters.

the response was thus

Houndawg: suggested (rather patronizing) that Dimori was looked after by DOn King...(the inferrence being that that makes him some kind of hot property)......

i responded with a link proving that Don King often takes a gamble on small hall average fighhters that dsnt always come off....

Brute: mentions something about Junior Witter (presumably a tit for tat attack on British fighters)...i have absolutly no interest in LT Welters even if they're british.

Toppity: asks whats my point ? about Don King.

My point was very clear and accurate.

Ben K : lands a few rabbits !

let me just clarify

i have the same problem in England with people hyping up a hw called Tyson Fury who is at most ...average. its just an honest assessment.

i feel the same about Hops...haumano...leapai and dimori

and results have not swayed my opinion either way.

and for the record ..only a few weeks ago i was praising Leapai for his activity ...putting in a lot of fights over the summer ...i likened him to a version of Joey Abell.
A fair and honestly intentioned analysis.

peace ;;-)

Mate i wasn't being patronizing at all, i merely pointed out that i think De Mori is considered by most to be a little more than a club fighter..........how is that patronizing?

For the record Leapai is more than a club fighter as well, this isn't nationalism on my behalf this as you often say is an honest assesment.

All will be revealed soon anyway.

Guys who a supposed to be above club level fighters dont DRAW with Japanese 6-3 Fighters who loose to Brian Fitzgerald.

Leapai is going no where and his fight against the very faded shot journeyman Cliff Couser could be a tougher test than Leapai expects..........that in itself says it all about Leapai.

Hoppa has always been a circus act. A Faded 42yo McCall showed that. Good on Hoppa for taking a tough fight but he was always going to get KO'd!!

Solo is a lazy, bum feeding fighter. He went the distacne with Couser.............say no more.............and got sparked by a pro debut MMA fighter. He is a guy with a nice built up record who will be giving his 0 away very shortly.

At least us kiwis have Tua Vs Cameron comming up!!!!

Did you see that fight Houndawg?? Welliver won 4-2 on rounds. It was a a good tough fight both guys gave it out and took it but Chauncy outboxed Mailata easily for 4 of the 6 rounds, I gave Mailata 2 on agression and landing some solid shots. I was told by the NZPBA after the fight that Chauncy lost points because of his ring antics (jestering to the crowd, dowing the moon walk, singing with the music that was being played at the same time) basically Chauncy entertained the crowd and put up a good fight but the Old school judging style hit out against him. The ref that scored it 58-55 or whatever it was must have been totally blind. The fights on the net somwhere find it yourself and if you know anyhting about boxing you'll see Chauncy won.

But thanks for bringing it up, I dont make a point of talking trash about fights i have not seen however :DD

Question: Would Solo, Hoppa or Leapai last more than 6 rounds with Odlanier Solis?

ALso Mailata will give Vea a real go for the OPBF title. I always thought Mailata would be a killer at Cruiserweight and if he came fit and prepared. Although his last 3 fights have gone the distance at cruiser it almost seems hes stronger with a little more weight on board. Having said that they were all 10 rounders so thats good experience. If Mailata comes to fight Vea will be in for a rough night

No mate i didn't but I've seen Mailata fight a couple of times to know that if he gave Welliver 6 tough rounds, Welliver mustn't have much pop.

So you were at the Leapai vs Takehara fight then? Obviously you were, other wise you wouldn't be talking trash right? :DD

I watched the fight mate, so I take it you watched Welliver VS Mailata as well?? :DD

When has anyone including Welliver himself claimed hes a KO artist? Chauncy aint a big banger thats a fact. Its also fact that Mailata just finished a 6 week training camp sparring with Shane Cameron for most of it beofr ehe fought Welliver. That sure beats hitting a heavy bag in Samoa for a few weeks before fighting Solo.

In anycase suggesting Leapai is nothing more than a quality Club fighter is not trash talking mate its the simple truth!! I like Leapai because i like a KO fighter he comes to KO you. Which is why i love Tua, its there styles i enjoy. But Leapai wont go anywhere he may get a few big fights because of his record and entertaining style but he will not come close to being a World Champion..............is that trash talking?? Nope thats simple fact stating!!

I never said he would win a world title, i said i thought he is more than a club fighter. Maybe we'll just have to find out, nothing has proven to me yet it's fact.
Mate when are we ever going to see your boys in the ring here in Australia?

No disrespect, but whenever a promoter will bring over me or Jameson to fight.
We've accepted fights with everybody that way but with no luck.
