I'l take that as a compliment Marlin even if it was intended as a small dig :TU:

Like Chauncy said as soon as a Aussie Promoter decides hewants to bring one of these guys down. ITs not like there are not fights for them

Welliver VS Haumono
Welliver VS Hoppa
Welliver VS Leapai
Welliver VS Kirby
Welliver VS De Mori
Welliver VS Wilson

Bostic VS Bell
Bostic VS Walker
Bostic VS Lovett
Bostic VS Hamden

These promoters are bringing guys like Couser (whom i lok after) dow to fight, they are bringing South Americans, Africans, and of course of Thai mates. So its not like they are not willing to bring fighters to OZ. Leapai fights Couser next...........it could just have easily been Welliver. We are willing to fight Tim Bell and take his titles, but they wont have a bar of it.

Also got Max Alexander willing to fight ANY Aussie Cruiserweight.

In anycase I'll be in OZ at the end of this month so the bal will get rolling alot faster then!

the difference is the South Americans, Africans, and of course the Thais come a hell of a lot cheaper and pose far less of a threat to their fighters padded record. Thats why when our aussie boys do get their chance in US they get nailed!!!

hard to disagree.

We have an "island" mentality when it comes to the boxing industry. Those involved appear to be very insular, looking at the industry as a stand alone venture. Fair enough as well....to some degree. People are trying to earn a living. However this mentality means that when the upper-mid level guys try to step up, they can not achieve. Although we should not look at Australian boxing as a breeding ground for opponent level fighters for overseas, we do need a better method, a more collaborative approach, to apply to those with talent levels that appear to be suitable for the world stage.

That's my theory. Fucked if I know how to do it in practice.

Problem is everyone waiting for the ONE maybe two if your lucky BIG paydays. Build up a guy then sell him out to a top prospect so they can have his 15-0 or 20-0 etc record on there record!

Look in the old days (how often do we hear that) guys werent trying to keep pristine clean looking records for example.........

Battling Levinsky 197-55-36
Abe Attell 125-18-23
Tommy Loughran 117-29-13
Emile Griffith 85-24-2
Ezzard Chalres 93-25-1

All great fighters with alot of wins as well but the losses didnt mean so much back then. Problem is now someone has 1 or 2 losses and they are considered DONE!

I think Ray Musson is a decent exmaple the Kid will fight ANYONE hes 7-2-0 fought Frank Loporto in his 4th fight Ray had only just turned 20. But the kid wanted a test!! NBow hes shot himself in the foot almost by showing he has a ton of heart and can punch so now hes avoided by everyone other than the Veterans out there and hasnt been able to land a fight for a while. He'll never be a world champion but id much rather watch him fight than some 15-0 "prospect" whos being fed another Thai Cabbie!

Well Said N2 Shape, i know you look after him but we really don't need to bring guys like Couser to Australia, theres better talent here.

Sign me up. I see the OPBF is busy for awhile, so the WBO Oriental is a good title to fight for. :box: Even better... Let's try to get it on the Tua vs. Cameron undercard? :DDD

In the past i mentioned to N2shape for a good old fashioned ring entrence at the end of Kirby vs Solo to challenge the winner.......... still think it's a good idea Chauncy, it's on TV here in Australia, a lot of people will see the winner either take the challenge or coward away, but either way people will know your serious. ;;-)

Me and N2 has spoken about this and have considered it. It really just all comes down to training schedule for that week. I look to be fighting on the Tua_Cameron undercard and will be sparring around the time of the Solo-Kirby fight. A great idea that may be for the first time for me, put aside due to a training schedule!
Will keep everybody posted on if we'll be seeing you at Kirby-Solo

Kirby was talking himself up last night at Blacktown, but it was clearly tongue-in-cheek stuff as the lad has obviously been watching the WWE to learn a bit about public speaking.

I was going to mention this, my wife finally caved and watched boxing with me, when Kirby was being interviewed she turns to me and go's who's that tosser and why is a wrestler on a boxing program  I pissed myself laughing and then explained who he was.

9 of the 10 guys he's fought have retired after fighting him?.... Really?

Hey hey hey... I know I can't punch and displaying my lack of power in public wouldn't help sell the fight!
