Pretty Boy is my Current P4P number 1, just ahead of Bernard.

But to compare him to Sugar Ray, is a nonsense in my humble opinion.

Mayweather is the best boxer p4p around today I'd say.... he's a beautiful boxer to watch, with great skills and speed... he can stand directly in front of a fighter and block all their punches. He's also got good power, although he has a lot of trouble with his hands and so often has to hold back on his shots I think. It's too early really to put him upo with the all time greats... he needs to acheive some longevity and to carry on beating the top fighters... but he seems to be on the right track though his hands are a worry and could affect his career eventually.
Another excellent boxer with great skills is Corey Spinks who recently beat Ricardo Mayaorga for the Welter title... there are rumours that Spinks and Maywaether will eventually meet as Mayweather wants to move up to Welter eventually......... interesting fight that would be.....

So logically it follows that Mosley beats Spinks, if you're using (literally) circular reasoning, and the paper/scissors/rock-style circle consists of those 4 guys.

To compare floyd with SRR is an insult to true boxing fans. Floyd needs to stick around for another 5 years and fight top quality opposition especially in the 140 division, where I see Cotto beating him when they finally meet. He's well on his way, don't get me wrong, but in SRR you have the best boxer ever period.

To even compare to Sugar Ray Robinson, IMO Mayweather would have to unify the divisions at 140 (Beat Gatti and Tzyu), and then move up to welterweight and beat Spinks, and then hold the welterweight title for a good few years.

Then he still wouldn't be the match of Sugar Ray, but he'd be a lot closer.

Pretty Boy Floyd is so skilled that I do not see NOBODY, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY from lightweight to welterweight beating this guy in AT HIS BEST SHAPE. He's above anybody else in skills and can take a punch.

i dont even know why im responding to this but,
hell here it goes...
ray robinson had "131 pro fights before jake lamotta finally gave him his first loss....131 wins....let me put it in perspective....
if you took floyds record and multiplied it by "3" he would still be thirty something fights short of ray robinsons first loss....
and ray went on to fight even after his first loss....
floyd has how many fights??
floyd i think, lost his first fight to jesus chaves, chaves was the champ, floyd was moving up to challenge the champion....
or was it castillo...??
anyway,
i thought floyd lost the first fight with the guy?
the champ was clearly busier the entire fight, floyd did win the rematch.
but to even put floyd in the same sentence with the great
ray robinson is criminal...now if you say mayweather is p4p today.....
i could see a argument...even though i disagree, hopkins has done more in his career, but mayweather isnt or in my opinion,
cant or wont ever be ray robinson.....just my opinion though

Roy Jones was never going to be the next SRR, that's too big a burden for a fighter to carry in my opinion. There was and only ever will be one SRR & I think in the years to come people will be calling the next bright star the next Roy Jones.

Actually Robinson was 40-0 when he lost to LaMotta. After that, however, he went on to get all the way up to 128-1-1 before his second pro loss.

Anyway, Mayweather hasn't done anything to come even within close to what Robinson achieved. Maybe if he dominates two or three weight divisions for the next ten years he can be looked at as a potential rival for Robinson.

your right...my bad, nice find.....
i was going on memory, and his first was his 41 fight with lamotta,
and he avenged that loss, in fact looking back at his record he avenged alot of his losses, interesting, looks like they built boxers differently back in thoses days, some guys today have a tuff loss and they never are the same, robinson had alot of tuff fights with hof boxers but kept winning and fighting, went on to be 173-19-6 total of 198 fights, thats amazing!!!
mayweather cant or wont ever be ray robinson.

Tszyu will beat Mayweather if they fight and his Uncle knows that. He lost to Castillo in the first fight and as soon as Tszyu hits him it will be lights out.
