Someone has put up a whole load of Wayne's fights. Some great memories there but boy did he go in chin first! No defence at all!

Re: Wayne Alexander's fights
Yes, highly erratic and thus compelling. Could be knocked out in the first (Vigne) just as easily as the last (Mellis) but at the same time gave a decent world champ trouble at 24 hours notice, and scored a very good Euro title win, among others, and of course the Takaloo KO was unforgettable.
Re: Wayne Alexander's fights
Oh boy that wayne could hit!!!
but his chin and defense were not the best in the world..
as an am, he got knocked out by Paul Carr in the NABCs
Nice guy tho.

Re: Wayne Alexander's fights
He admitted to not looking after himself between fights as he should of during his career, so had alot of work to do when he started training for a fight.
Re: Wayne Alexander's fights
He is a personel trainer now, and also on facebook, but dont expect long conversations with him,

The Joe Townsley ko was eye-watering. Wayne swung a wide left hook that appeared to miss, but on the slo-mo replay it just clips the bridge of Joe's nose. There's one heck of a delay between the punch landing and him going down. It must've hurt like mad!!!

I remember that one. Absolutely horrific! A Wayne Alexander left hook to any part of the body was an instant finish, but imagine taking one of those full swings to just your nose!rubberneck wrote:The Joe Townsley ko was eye-watering. Re: Wayne Alexander's fights
Alexander generated electric excitement when he was about to fight, becuase you never knew what was going to happen, but it tended to be a knockout or stoppage in his favour for the majority of his career, Am or Pro.
Sadly missed from the British scene, but not forgotten.

Froch would have taken it on the nose and most likely have broken Waynes hand.
