Yes as I said, I don't expect it to neccessarily float the boat of every die hard boxing fan, that's not our only market, hopefully at least.

Let me know which branch of Smiths, I will inform security to eject anyone reading the mag unless they have paid for it...

thought the june issue was great, I'll have a look on the site and buy online, I dont forsee my local smiths stocking it.

I personally feel the mag will pull a lot of casual boxing fans closer to the sport. I know a group I was with read the June issue and probably learnt more from reading that than they already knew about the sport.

Its all good.

Yes it is, and cheaper by subscription too of course. We are meant to be in every WHSmiths in the land as far as I know, at least for launch.

Damn I thought nobody had read the post before i edited it. I'll pop in and report back then.

Out of interest (and if you dont mind me asking) how many copies have you printed off? do you just give a ruck of them to smiths etc... and hope most of them sell?

I think the only thing is a lot of people wont know what magazine it is without going right up to it - 99% of people have no idea who Williams is. Mind you most Smiths have boxing & martial arts/combat mags and dare I say it wrestling mags in the same area - well the ones near me do.

Know what you are saying 007 but I would say Danny is perfect for the front cover, I reckon he is probably the best known boxer to the man in the street at this present juncture due to his win against Tyson, his face was all over the papers in the national news etc etc.

by the way James Ian, nice one its great to see you guys grasping the nettle and doing something so constructive for the sport.

Nice one. :TU:

Just had a look around Oxford st and can't see it in Smiths or Borders so far....

I thought the first issue was pretty good, always nice to see another Brit boxing mag on the market.
Pieces by James and Ian were excellent, but to be honest I reckon you better drop the Holdsworth articles - sure he knows his stuff, but he can't write to save his f*****g life!!

He's a very well known mush, and I think that's why he was approached, it's good to have well known faces on board, lends the magazine gravitas.

Hmm, maybe it's the independent retailers that it's in.

What will it cost? I will definately buy a copy to check it out. Correct me if i am wrong but i presume you are approaching it from the same sort of angle that "FourFourTwo" do with there Football monthly. More articles and features and perhaps a look at the quirkier side of the sport rather than 100% reports, previews and hard fact?

We know from experience Steve's strengths lie elsewhere. If it wasn't for him, Boxing Monthly wouldn't exist today and I doubt there would be as much interest in boxing on Eurosport either.
Nobody on the British boxing scene gets around as much as him.

True, there's hardly anyone in British boxing he doesn't know.
In fact, you should getting him selling advertising space in Uppercut - he sold a shed load of space in the first issue of Box Monthly, which was more than I could manage....he's got contacts everywhere.

Just got my issue, looks good, although I haven't read it from cover to cover as yet.

Subscribing at £2 per issue for three months is a great idea, I will bring a copy to the memorabilia show on Saturday, for anyone who hasn't seen it, I'll also have some of the trial issues to give out.

This is me :o

Thanks a lot Kev really appreciate it mate, it's hard work in the early stages, and every little helps. I will see if I can make it down, one of us should be there to make some contacts.

Any feedback would be really appreciated also. We will probably take 3-4 months to hone it to where we want it to be entirely.

Well done chaps - haven't seen it yet....but getting this far was a tremendous achievement.

Hope it sells well, if you could just tone down Jamesy's input.....:-)

Seriously, Big Up.
