Sigh, Why non boxing fans should not report on fights.

Post by Grant »

So Danny is now even with Jeff?????

Lets see from memory Danny won an inter something bullshit belt at Super middle didn't he and this one is IBO FFS.

I rekon we should start adding up Lesters titles now.

"DANNY Green has won the vacant IBO cruiserweight boxing world title with a fifth round knock-out over Argentina's Julio Cesar Dominguez.

The triumph in Biloxi, Mississippi was Green's third world title in separate divisions after winning belts at super middleweight and light heavyweight.

His former trainer Jeff Fenech is the only other Australian to have won world title belts in three divisions.

Green dominated the fight, dropping Dominguez in the first round and twice in the third before the Argentinian's corner rescued their stricken fighter.

The result improved 36-year-old Green's record to 27-3 with 24 KOs Dominguez 32, dropped to 20-5-1 (14)."

The belt he just won today is complete bs. Green hadn't even fought at cruiser yet his debut fight in the division just happens to be for the vacant title. Had anyone heard of Dominguez?

Marlin  He predicted this fight like a month before it was announced.

It's a good win, lets hope it's the last Argie that green fights.

I also hope Green decides to stick with boxing after the Jones fight, theres still plenty for him to accomplish.

Don't know what it is about Green, but everytime he fights, my adrenalin go's through the roof!

8) Thanks for the props dawg

The Title Green won at Super middle was a genuine Interim Title put in place because the Champion could not fight due to injury. Green stopped Lucas in a great fight and thus became the best Supermiddle in the WBC. It is way more genuine than a lot of the Titles going around and it certainly shits on a WBA "regular" Title which means you're not even the best in your organisation.

The IBO I agree is questionable. But in the end it is the IBO baby...

She only knew what was put in front of her. As well as his IBF Super Featherweight title, Lester won IBO Lightweight, Light Welter and Light Middleweight belts. He also won the WBF Welterweight belt.

Anybody want to put the "Master Blaster" up as a five weight World Champion?

Closest I got to that was when I was a kid and we would kick a matchbox up the footpath and the last one to kick it before it went into the stormwater drain won.

Isn't kickboxing kicking a box?

i was gunna say something like that but didn't cos Marlin knows a bit more about the game than me most likely, but Genuine interim sounded a bit tongue in cheeck to me too.

If it was sarcasm then I am laughing with you.......

Green beat Lucas when they did not know if Beyer would recover from the beating Green gave him before that sissy Clancy disqualified Green.

That was when Green was at his absolute best. DeLisle, then the Beyer farce, then Lucas.
