Apparently in a bad way.
Dementia - poor eyesight and speech and can never work again.
Benefit for him being sorted out by ex pro Pete Jackson.
You can call Jackson on 07980 159013 - saw this in Boxing News.
The benefit is in Dudley on October 16th - £20.00 and includes Bollywood dancers - 3 course meal and disco/raffle.
All profits go to Howard Clarke and his family.
Howard finished with a record of 27-79-2(14) and fpught Fernando Vargas for the World Title.
Not nice - I suppose the long career has taken its toll.
Howard Clarke
Re: Howard Clarke
Do the promoters ever try to help in these cases,he lost his last 51 contests so he was clearly being used IMO,just what sort of money would he have got from these contests

He was being used, but nobody put a gun to his head and told him to get into the ring.BARNEYKX wrote:Do the promoters ever try to help in these cases,he lost his last 51 contests so he was clearly being used IMO,just what sort of money would he have got from these contests

Re: Howard Clarke
Clarke was being used, but he used the promoters too of course, he wasn't doing it for free, and did his journeyman bit too look after himself on many an occasion as well.
Nevertheless, a real good fighter, really nice guy too and i'm proper gutted to hear this terrible news. Another reminder of what a hard game this is, and people should think of cases like this when they want to criticise the Buckley's of this world

Actually, I seem to recall he was shot in both legs in cuddly Dudley.opticald wrote:He was being used, but nobody put a gun to his head and told him to get into the ring.BARNEYKX wrote:Do the promoters ever try to help in these cases,he lost his last 51 contests so he was clearly being used IMO,just what sort of money would he have got from these contests
