Sorry if you're reading this for the second time - posted it on the general forum by mistake....
It was a gentle spar - John's first in a bit. Although he did ask me to dig a few shots in!
Really enjoyed it, felt strange sparring with a former world champion who I used to read about when I was young.
John wants to fight next year, although he has a bit of weight to lose!
He is looking for any work if some one has any - he will consider anything - labouring whatever.
PM me if you have anything.....

Yeah he's 45 I think...he wants one more fight next year.knockout artist wrote:He must be 44 now.
What does he weigh?
Does he still bang?
Don't know his weight, but I would guess at 13 stone....maybe more - he has weight to lose...
He didn't thow any hard shots during the spar, but showed me a couple of moves and it was clear he still had the raw power esp when he sets himself.
I think it's very sad that John is considering fighting again, he certainly wouldn't get a license to box here........ surely he's taking a big risk even sparring if his eyes are as bad as I've heard they are. As far back as his fight with Gerald Mcclellan Mugubi looked to be shot.... I would have thought that Johns friends would be trying to talk him out of boxing again.
Why doesn't he try training fighters instead, I'm sure he could make a decent living out of that, and he'd have a ton of experience to help the fighters. I'm always surprised at how many exboxers don't seem interested in training young fighters.
