El raincoat
Both Lomachenko and Tischenko are both competing, but i have not seen the Russia and Ukraine squad for the world championships, Lomachenko is favourite for 57kg,Tischenko is fighting in bradley saunders weight category,
Rosniel Iglesias( World Cup winner in moscow) and Tischenko are two favourties but i hope they meet in the final. What has happened to Bakhyt Sarsekbayev, has he won the gold medal in welterweight category, has he moved down to middleweight or light welterweight?

Thanks :-)

Bradley Saunders is out he injured his hand i think.

Not heard anything of Sarsekbayev sine the Olympics other than he toyed with going pro awhile back.

If anyone has a link to the teams going to the Worlds that would be great.

The final registration date for the World Championships was July 20th. It seems like there would be a tentative list of athletes. I'm sure AIBA has it, but whether they post it is another issue. We may have to wait until August 31st or September 1st after the draw and bracketing to find out.

I HEAR THERE A CHANCE THAT SOME OF THE #1'S MIGHT GET REPLACE IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. BASE ON SOME OUTSTANDING OUTINGS OF SOME OF THE BOXERS DURING THE TRAINING SESSIONS. IS THAT TRUE? :witzend:

I sincerely, sincerely doubt that. It would reek of favoritism and invite legal action, I would imagine. As well as shoot USAB's fragile credibility in the foot.

The only way a #1 will be replaced is if there is an injury. Even then, the replacement would have to be the guy USAB gave as the backup to AIBA. My guess is USAB gave the names of the #2's as the backups so no boxer below #2 would have a chance no matter how well they did in camp.

OK, we know the USA and Irish teams. We can guess at the teams from Italy, China, Russia, Cuba, Germany, and Brazil based upon the 2009 Road to Milan duals. How about any other countries teams?

Is Great Britain only sending 7 boxers? Are these the same boxers who will be coming for the dual with USA in October?

It looks like Cuba is sending Erislandy Savon instead of Roberto Alfonso at 91+kg.

I think he's Felix nephew. He won the U-19 World Championship as a heavyweight last year so definitely an interesting choice.

Erislandy must be pretty good as he just won the 91+ Kg title at the American Elite Championships last month.

Are you sure? Every article I've read about him claims he is Felix's nephew.

Erislandy Savon is Felix's nephew. His father is Felix's brother. Felix Savon's oldest son is cuban champion for schoolboys (13-14 years).
