I fancy Williams to win it but some of the younger guys may be more suited to the shorter fights but Williams has mixed it at the best level there and should have the quality to win it imo

I only think the top three really have a chance tbh. Danny Williams can turn it on for three rounds but may struggle nearer the final with the lactic acid build up and Audley is the opposite - he might not be able to get even started in three rounds!

Sprott has the ability to knock them all out but seems to have lost that ability lately.

Gammer has fallen into the same mould as Sprott but a lower level.

Barrett and Hughes have padded records and are totally unproven.

The other two arnt really worth a comment.

Just spoke to Danny, he's totally fired up for this. His body fat is down to 11% already. Cannot wait for this. Not been this excited for UK boxing event since days of Benn/Hamed. Cannot wait!

Yes, but that was over a course of months, not one night, and also Bika is a top 10 WORLD ranked fighter.

I can see the point about British title-level boxers in a 3-round format, but I honestly don't think it's such a big deal. After all, do these guys - big names as they are - have any better options?

Williams - on his last legs, struggled with McDermott, lost to Sosnowski. Still a big name but far from a world - or even European - force anymore.

Audley - will be 38 later that month and has no choice but to gamble.

Sprott - we're all fond of him but he's no more than a gatekeeper for Euro prospects now.

Gammer - loses, retires, unretires, loses, retires... you get the picture. Seems his heart isn't in it anymore. This might give him some spark. The alternative? Stick to retirement or go the Sprott route.

Holden - old and had already lost his momentum when he retired years ago. For his comeback he would almost certainly been on the six-round circuit for a while. This gives him a chance to get right back up there domestically with one night's work.

Honestly, looking at the current and future position of these guys without Prizefighter, can you think of any better options?

Also, by virtue of them being heavyweights, yes they're bigger names, but pound-for-pound are they any better (and therefore is their inclusion in PF any more "demeaning") than the likes of Oakey, Francis, Dunstan, Bami, Lomax, Minter, et al?

I'm slightly miffed that a British champion has entered one of these. I'm assuming he would make much more money keeping his British belt, and fighting someone like Chisora. And I do fear for Danny in this format. It will be a shame to see him lose his belt on PrizeFighter. But if Fury vs Tyson happens for the vacant belt, then that will be amazing. Danny is shot to bits.

Saved me a post - that's exactly that.

The Contender had the benefits of months of revenue from advertisers and sponsors, and could therefore afford the money, the fighters also had to commit to several weeks out of their schedule in order to participate.

You cannot really make a direct comparison between Prizefighter and The Contender, the contender was a syndicated TV show, whilst Prizefighter is essentially just a boxing bill with a slightly unusual format.
