The massacare of Maccarenelli
Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
Klitschko would have obliterated him in less than 5 rounds.....either, or. Not saying that that makes someone no good, cos Haye is good and he's got a good set on him, I admire that, he's not a ducker. Am just saying I don't think he's this fckin second coming that people make out he is.
He was on queer street against Thompson, Fragomeni, Mormeck etc...
It's one thing to say I've got a mental problem, but then you said you'd take Calzaghe in a street fight didn't you...and you fckin believed it and I bet you still do!
So no offence taken mate.
The thing is you cannot honestly say that I couldn't but then again I couldn't honestly say that i could I just truly believe on the street its a different matter all together.
it was only a tongue in cheek Ted, I still think you'd be up against it pal but I will defend to the death your right to believe it. Kessler should have got you on side!

If we're going to be brutally honest I think most of us on this forum could take Joe C **, most of us just don't like to say it. There.

Enzo Maccarenelli was a car crash waiting to happen.........
Its got to be said.........
He was floored and hurt badly by Bruce Scott and recovered.
Then for me he showed horrible flaw in the Mark Hobson fight - jerking his chin back and putting it up in the air.
Hobson hurt him early but Enzo recovered and in a long tough fight his flaws were exposed.
Hobson was not good enough or quick enough or intelligent enough to take advantage.
However against David Haye there was always a high probabilty that Enzo was going to meet a car crash type defeat.
First point - he had gone to Enzo Calzaghe - who it seemed had improved him in all aspects of the game.
However - Enzo Calzaghe camp are rank amateurs - they are jokes - just take a look at Bradley Price and Gavin Rees - both talented fighters - but they have a very lacking mentality that is the Camp Calzaghe trademark.
Joe Calzaghe the trainers son is the obvious exception - but the rest of them all suffered from a very amateur set up.
Nathan Cleverly had enough professionalism about him and took himself and his career serious enough to bail out of the Calzaghe Camp before they all lost their way.
Enzo Maccarenille was preparing for the David Haye fight by running up some steps - and sparring with Bradley Price !!!!!
What a joke !!!!!
How can you prepare from a big huge power puncher Crusierweight in David Haye by Sparring Bradley Price.
And I bet Enzo only got to spar Price if he bothered to turn up for training that day - on other days he was probaly football training or palying his X Box or something.
Maccarenelli had no proper sparring with a decent pro Crusierweight / Heavyweight
He also done a bit of pad work and shadow boxing and hit the punch bag.
But sparring is most important - espcially when facing a power puncher like Haye.
Silly preparation for a WBO / WBC / WBA World Crusierweight title fight.
He had also never been shown how to defend himself in all his years of boxing.
Enzo Calzaghe never showed him nothing about defense.
Then in the fight with Haye he dropped his hand and jerked his chin in the air - that same horrible flaw.
Haye launched his big right hand - BINGO !!!! - nails Enzo - Enzo goes down
But here is the point Enzo also shows his stupidness and lack of experience.....................
Even though he touched down - pridefully he pulled himself back up on the ropes -
Haye was then able to launch more volley of punchs
Enzo tried to hug Haye during this assault insteand of geeting his hands up (never been shown how to defend himself)
Last punch that drop him - clean on Enzos chin - he didnt even have his hands up
Then instead of taking a knee to recover - got straight back up - (pride again - instead of being smart)
Staggered across the ring like a drunk to speak to the referee - (inexperience - what business had he walking to the centre of the ring to have a conversation with the ref - he should have stayed in his corner and recovered)
Then he staggered back to his corner - and tried to speak to the ref again
The the ref asked him to raise his hands and he couldnt raise them up........................
I'm sorry but it was a car crash defeat.............
His inexperience and non existent defence were brutally exposed................

Re: Enzo Maccarenelli was a car crash waiting to happen.........
The Ola Afolabi fight was another joke preparation
This time he had no sparring
Enzo Calzaghe wasnt even turning up to train him
Enzo Calzaghe is a joke of bloke
Of course he would train Joe his son
But when Joe was finished with boxing - Enzo Calzaghe didnt give a shit about the other boys
Enzo Maccarenelli was left to his own devices - lifting beer barrels in a nightclub basement
Enzo Calzaghe and Camp Calzaghe are amateurs - yet their fighters are stepping into the ring with the David Hayes and the Andres Kotelniks and Kelly Pavliks, etc
No wonder they all got brutal beatings...............

Re: Enzo Maccarenelli was a car crash waiting to happen.........
I think Joe Calzaghe was the exception because of the following..............
He is very strong mentally - 100% winners mentality
He is obviosuly naturally talented boxer / athelte
He built up rapport with his father over they years and had a unique relationship
The set up worked for him - he was comfortable with his rountine and surroundings
But the other boys just came down and it didnt work so well for them

Flint why oh why? Unless you are Enzo this is just mental asylum stuff and I worry about you.
Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
Am I reading this thread right? Has a boxrec poster claimed he would beat Joe Calzaghe in a square go? Absolutely tremendous scenes.
Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
Ahhh....but I must let you in on a little secret, you see I know the secret identity of that poster and I can reveal he is none other than... Andy McNabTheGoods wrote:Am I reading this thread right? Has a boxrec poster claimed he would beat Joe Calzaghe in a square go? Absolutely tremendous scenes.
But shh.. don't tell anyone I told you, that info is worth more than my life.
Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
Maccarinelli had the punch but no chin... however he did have confidence, so he could be dangerous. Haye took that away from him and looks what's left of him.
Pitiful.
Macca is done at any level apart from domestic.

His mental sanity is another thing
He only lost to Swaby because he was hung over from drinking the night before
He still dont accept Haye beat him as the better man
And that Aflobai beat him as the better man
And this latest guy Lebdev would not have lasted 2 round in his prime

Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
The painful thing was
Haye V Maccarenelli was supposed to be a 50/50 fight
However
Haye was a class above and Enzo got blitzed

Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
The main reason why I dislike Macca is his excuses over the Haye ending. I promised on a different site that Haye would do what he did, and I can prove it if you want, although Macca keeps banging about this 'mistake' he made in getting sparked. The only mistake you made, Enzo lad, was getting in with Haye at all.

"I lost to that guy tonight because he was just better than me"
thats not in his mentality - he hasnt got the capcity to admit he is lesser than another man

No offence dude, but the reason the thread had gone... was that nobody cared about it.
When a thread that's like 4+ days old has slipped onto page 3 or something, it's a sign its dead.
Correct me if i'm wrong, I'm not a member there, but are you the same Flint Island that people poke and ridicule on ESB ? for constantly creating new ways of posting about Macaroni ? didn't you get banned off there for constant Macaroni threads ?
If Macaroni is your thing fair enough, but constantly 'bumping' a dog tired discussion.. it's not cricket me duck.
(i repeat, no offence)

Don't want to perpetuate the thread any longer, but Flint, use some punctuation and stop writing really short sentences double spaced. It really p*sses me off.
Re: The massacare of Maccarenelli
Not how I remember the fight. He had Haye fighting at pace, but I distinctly recall a thrilling KO conclusion after Haye suffered a bad cut, kept his composure and landed a brutal combination that laid Fragomenni out. But hey, that's just me.But Frogemeni "nearly" beat him
Ultimatley credit has to be given to Haye for finding the heart to pull the strength from somewhere to stop Frogemeni
However during the fight - Forgemenei pressured Haye and had him in a bad state
Haye was cut and distressed - and I believe almost actually bursting out into tears because he was so upset that the little fella was bullying him
