Everlast Official USAB Equipment and Apparel Sponsor
http://usaboxing.org/news/article/15258
Yeah, I saw the uniforms at the USA Nationals and they looked plain and I like the USA outfits much better. Everlast stuff was boring. So does this mean that Everlast shoes will replace the USA Jordan? Ewww. I don't have any experience with Everlast equipment/apparel at all. But beggars can't be choosers. Was hoping Jordan Brand/Nike would still stick around.

Dammit, I really liked the Jordan stuff. Those Everlast uniforms are always plain and pretty much look crappy (I really, REALLY don't like how Satin trunks fit). I guess Nike/Jordan are abandoning what they think is a sinking ship. :(

No kidding. They outfit the New York Metro franchise at the Gloves a lot, from what I remember. Probably too pricey for USAB to afford though.
Re: Everlast Official USAB Equipment and Apparel Sponsor
HAVOC is a very small company compared to Everlast. Considering that corporations pay USAB to be their sponsors and then "donate" their wares, I doubt that Andre would even consider becoming a USAB sponsor. This new agreement with Everlast also puts John Brown, as a USAB BOD member, much more entrenched in a conflict of interest position. No kidding. The last paragraph of the article says:
"In addition, Everlast will provide the top two open division men in each of the 11 weight divisions with an Athlete Equipment Kit, in an effort to help the United States’ top boxers train with world-class equipment in their home gyms."
I'm not sure what will be included in the Athlete Equipment Kit. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

We are only talking about a dozen or so uniforms though. I figured it may somehow be worth it to get his name into the international competitions. Just hoping against hope.boxmel wrote:HAVOC is a very small company compared to Everlast. That is not a lot of clothing for 3+ weeks. If the boxers are expected to wear their team attire at all times, you would think that they would get at least 2 sets of warm-ups, 2 polos, and a half dozen t-shirts. With the limited amount, I hope they don't actually work out in the clothing. The way the guys were sweating while they were in Italy in July, several of them ruined their Air Jordan shoes during the 9 day trip. The team had about the same amount of clothing for that 9 day trip as they do for this 22-23 day trip.gman11 wrote:I just spoke with a coach who was at the last camp and he said that the team only got one pair of sweats top and bottom two uniforms one polo shirt and two t-shirts and one pair of Everlast boots. Our team is going to be there a while you would think that they would have given more clothing. On a positive note Andrew is back and last i heard he is hunting down more appearl. well see..
You said Andrew is back? Did USAB hire him full-time or did the USOC hire him part-time to help USAB?
Re: Everlast Official USAB Equipment and Apparel Sponsor
what did happen to Jordan being the sponsor? The team looked very good!
Re: Everlast Official USAB Equipment and Apparel Sponsor
As Mel said Havoc doesn't have the financial means to be USA Boxing's equipment and attire sponsor. Even Jordan probably didn't want to give as much money and merchandise to USA Boxing as Everlast will.
I found an article that states the value of the 4 year sponsorship contract is $350,000 per year for a total of $1.4 million over the life of the contract.

Re: Everlast Official USAB Equipment and Apparel Sponsor
I notice the article didn't state the details. But past sponsorship paid USA Boxing for the rights to that sponsorship and equipment/apparel was an in-kind donation, not monetary. Unless things have changed, it should still be the same.
