Mayorga is one crazy dude.
Keep in mind, this is the first round. Vargas was almost Ko'd by a left hook like that in the first round.

Where was it shown?BOLLOCKS19842003 wrote:Mayorga wobbled a bit from the second one. You can tell, because he steps back a bit, and his right ankle bends. His head was probably spinning from that (not surprising).
Mayorga is definitely a wildman, I heard he took a beating though. I can't believe the fight was shown over here.
The main difference with this one to the one Takaloo took was Mayorga saw it coming, Tak didn't. It may have been less power , but if you don't see it coming and are moving onto the shot then you'll get knocked outlirva33 wrote: He didn't crumble like Takaloo (Tak was hit with lesser power). I see what you're saying but Mayorgas chin is ridiculously better than Takaloos. What a chin that guy has to let Tito tee off on him with 2 hooks and still stay upright!topper123 wrote:The main difference with this one to the one Takaloo took was Mayorga saw it coming, Tak didn't. Yes, that makes a massive difference. in fact, you are probably much less likely to get KO'd when you offer your chin, as you can brace yourself for the shot. The shot Tak took caught him at the point where he was fully committed to his own shot and he leant into the punch too. I defy anyone at the weight to take a punch like that and not go down and out.topper123 wrote:The main difference with this one to the one Takaloo took was Mayorga saw it coming, Tak didn't. I'd say that Wayne hits as hard as Trinidad. Wayne doesn't seem to even put any effort into his shots, yet he still sends them to sleep!lirva33 wrote:The second one was a trademark hook from Tito brought out of a crouch. Maximum power. And Mayorga took it... on the side of the chin too!!![]()

Amazing.
He was hurt though, and I think this contributed to his beating. Apparently he was wobbling moments later in the round too.
Not sure about that Trinidads technique is a lot better.Boxingmad wrote:I'd say that Wayne hits as hard as Trinidad. Top form for one punch only but hey, that was more than enough for one night. Otherwise, slow, reaching with his punches, easy to hit and alarmingly vulnerable. If Tak's left to the body had landed first, it would have been over and done with but there you go, such are the margins in boxing.Kilburn wrote:Maybe not new and improved but certainly in top form after a long hard training camp.
Are you talking about the left that Tak was throwing at the same time as Alexanders' bomb? Because that punch was never going to get underneath Waynes right arm.DIRT SUGAR wrote:If Tak's left to the body had landed first, it would have been over and done with but there you go, such are the margins in boxing.
I agree , Alexander isn't going to change that much, but fitness can get you through. It did him well changing training camps to N. Ireland.Kilburn wrote:Maybe not new and improved but certainly in top form after a long hard training camp.
