Just got off the phone to Mickey Hunter Bennie. He reckons he has been offered it at 9st for Cook's Commonwealth belt? (Not sure about that bit). He has about 9lbs to shift which is obviously iffy but claims, and i quote "I'm game as pie mate. Lets have a look at him."

Cheers, mate. :TU: Hunter against an African for Pickering's Commonwealth belt sounds about right.

Oh, I see. Cook will vacate HIS Commonwealth title and allow Hunter the shot. :TU:

No. It's DEFINITELY Hunter v Fedorov. That's why I was bemused by the Commonwealth bit!! IF he takes it it looks a cracker. Taking the weight off may be a BIG problem but "The scourge of Hartlepool Bouncers" (as one local press wag recently dubbed Mickey) will come for a rumble and could pull it off.

PS - Am working in Leeds Fri. Reckon I will get to Brentwood if i leave after 3 bells? (My knowledge of "daan saarf" is quite appalling.

Cheers lads. Looks like the train is best option. 2 and a half ish hours. Hunter gonna see what comes off weight wise tonight and confirm in the morning. Not seen this Fedorov kid but if Mickey is still strong after making the weight, I wouldn't mind a bit of 5/6 about his chances.

Fedorov's best win is probably the injury stoppage in his last fight over Nikolai Eremeev - a man Hunter outpointed last October.
The Russian is completely untested, and has never fought outside Russia.

Not looking good. Hunter ran today and sparred this afternoon but was 9st 8lbs as of 5pm. Too much considering the weigh in is Thursday in London (travellling etc). The lad is gutted as it would have been a career best payday. Looks like Cookie will be left to carry the show. Real shame. Hope Mickey and Esham can box soon. The fight should be a piece of piss to make promotionally and the two lads have each others respect.

I thought Fedorov-Pickering was an interesting match, i am annoyed Pickering is out  I hope we still get to see Fedorov fight, his win over Eremeev was a good one.

Real shame. These Sky-TV opportunities are becoming rarer.

 Just got OFFICIAL word that Hunter was on the weight for Fri after all but got a nick in sparring and was deemed unfit to box. Must be hard to take for the lad. He's always in top shape anyway and I can hardly remember him ever being cut in a fight. Great match and good payday down the swanney. fornicating hell eh?

"TheGoods" maybe by giving us an insight into the weight loss methods of Mr Hunter you just cost him the fight,8lbs in a few day is against board regulations.

Just watching this Cook fight. Do the Sky commentary team think the public are stupid? This wasn't a great performance from Cook after a good one last time out. Every time Cook landed a few punches in a row the Frenchman was hurt, he just couldn't maintain anything was getting caught a lot. They have been instructed to talk up Cook but they are overdoing it big time, he should have stopped this guy. Seems like Cook thought this guy would roll over and didn't train hard enough.

If Sky don't see a quick knockout from a guy, they think he's failed. The Sports Network culture of quick knockouts is engrained with them.
