A Suprising return!

Wow, very shocked at the return. When the someone told me, with regard to the rankings, that Jon Thaxton hadn't fought for nearly two years I recieved a PM from Kieron who gave more details of the extend to the injuries. Kieron also said that it was very unlikely that we would return. When Kieron told me of his injuries, I also thought there was no why Thaxton would come back and was really only fooling himself by trying.

Only a few months ago Thaxton officially called it quits after several attempts to recover - now seems like he is finally beaten the injuries.

At only 30 and of course relatively fresh in boxing terms, Thaxton can certainly be a contendor for domestic honours at Welter or Light Welterweight.

This story should inspire Eamomn Magee, who I believed (and I do study the psychology of injury for my Phd) had a greater chance to return physiologically wise than Jono.

Good luck Thaxton, hope you finally get some luck in your career.

Magee could be back soon also, read that recently cant remember where.

Thaxton was unlucky not to have a W against Hatton, that fight should have been stopped on cuts.

It's great news if he comes back and he's still the fighter he used to be. I think the fighter that gave Hatton his hardest fight, to date, would be able to get himself well into the British title picture at whichever weight he comes back at. The fighter he was would beat Barnes i think. Good luck to the guy.
