whats the rule on having a team
Re: whats the rule on having a team
Maybe what you are referring to is having enough registered boxers so you have a vote at the LBC level (I believe a club must have 5 registered boxers to be able to vote). You can register a club with zero boxers; "teams" are not registered but you can register your individual boxers as members of your club. Page 179 in the current rule book gives a generally vague description.

Nothing that you can do about it from my understanding unless you deny all photos at a particular event (the sanction holder). If it's allowed, it can be distributed and most likely used for fundraising. Most show/tourney applications will have something in there saying that the sanction holder reserves the right to take photos for publicity/fundraising. I believe same type of wording is in the USA National application. In my experience, you can request that your boxer is not photographed, but once it's taken-not a real lot you can do without spending a lot of money. Only thing in the rule book is really worded toward commercially profiting off of images without permission i.e. an amateur boxing training video with boxers featured for sale, for profit.gman11 wrote:Mel
we got a team here that does fundraising for thier boxing team but does not have any boxers. The only reason that I am concerned is it involves other teams they take and sell pictures of boxers during bouts and than sell theam on thier web site. They have a disclamer that says they are a non-prof number. My question is this not a rule violation and what about legal issuies of not getting permission to post pictures of boxers on the net, and to charge monies. This is another issue but the legal part of picture taking is a little differant in every state here it is ok if it is a public place but once admission is charged you must have permission to take and sell pictures. Does anyone else know anything about this ?? thanks for the help

When they do the fund raising, who do they say it is for? If they don't have any boxers and are not telling the truth about where the monies are going, that would be a rule violation.we got a team here that does fundraising for thier boxing team but does not have any boxers.
Providing they have permission to shoot at the venue and it is a known factor they are taking the pictures for the express purpose of selling them, I don't see a problem. I'd like to know what statement they make on their web site - can you post the link? The only reason that I am concerned is it involves other teams they take and sell pictures of boxers during bouts and than sell them on their web site.
Are they listing the actual number? They have a disclamer that says they are a non-prof number.
