A very interesting concept, but will it work?

From a UK perspective its really a non starter IMO. For a start we dont have many UK mega fights, or uk fighters involved in mega fights abroad. The last two would be Hatton v Mayweather, then Pacquio. But they both kicked off at around 4am UK time so it would be non feasible.

As to UK mega fights, the last i can think of was Benn v Eubank, and most likely only reached the heights it did because it was built up and shown on national tv. Not something that would ever happen today, but if it did, then why go to the cinema when you can watch it live on terrestrial tv at home? It could possibly work from a regional perspective though for fights being shown only on Sky. But would UK promoters and Sky be interested in screening it in cinemas?

I'd certainly like to watch a big fight live on a 40 foot HD screen, but only if it did not feature several hundred Mancunians singing "There's only one...."

I went to watch UFC 100 at Radio City Music Hall in New York on a huge 70 foot screen. I really enjoyed it and was good to watch it with people who knew plenty about the fighters.
I think it would be interesting to see something like Haye-Valuev on in cinemas.
The one thing about JMM-PBF is that the PPV is $50 whereas it might only be $10 to see at the cinema, so might be cheaper to go and watch it there and on a big screen than order the PPV at home.

This would be awesome, I will be in Atlanta around this time so hope there is a local cinema showing it. The only downer is the lack of beer.

this is an old idea isn't it, I imagine home tv sets killed it off and now its come full circle again. I've always thought it would be good to watch a big fight on a cinema screen, Pac/Cotto or something.

I think it will be phenominal if the fights is action packed. A 'chess match' would not suit the format. Has to be like a high class Ward-Gatti where you can utilise the cinema technology to feel every punch, see every bead of sweat etc etc

A quality undercard fight as back up to the main event would help tremendously if the main event turned out to be dull, or ended in an early disqualification, or for any other reason it could be a let down.

I went to see Tyson-Mcneeley live at the cinema. It was the only way to watch it live in the Uk. I think it was on Sky the next night.

Although the original date for Mayweather Marquez was to be Sky Box Office it is heavily rumoured to be live on 'normal' Sky for the rearranged date.
